I don't follow how it leads to chicken and egg. If I have an oil well, I can buy power to run it. If I have a power plant, I can buy oil to run it. Or, I can build an oil well and power plant to supply myself with power and oil.

Funny... now that I look....you don't need eggs to raise chickens and you don't need chickens to lay eggs. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? ANSWER: Neither came first. Water and corn were first.

Maybe I'm "n00" here, but I am pretty sure power is not a raw material for raising chickens or eggs. What does power have to do with it? Even after translating your post into English, you still lost me. And if I did need power to raise chickens, I could buy it on the market when I buy corn and water.

I don't know how I'm confusing people, so okay, Greed. You got me there. It was nice to meet you and have fun with your game. I apologize for annoying you.

do not put real life situation into the game, please.
if you wish adding or changing something will make the game become more realistic or fun. then the whole game engine will need to be rewritten entirely, trust me.
there are thousand of thing in this game which are not logical at all, but it is still fun. because, it is just a game :P
such as, how come a cattle breeding giving milk without cows? same to eggs comes from sky not from a chicken :D
textile shop only produce cow skin, not taking a cow and get leather from it, skin should get from butcher shop, and many many. but why we still play this game? because it is fun.
about the quality issue, i agree to knoll, it is for game balance issue. but it got thousand ways to solve that problem, but the game designer had not seen that solutions when design the game and now they are hard to change because it required entirely rebalance and programming the game engine.
so, this game is already good. have fun

hmm interesting posts. Both sides are more or less right, but I still dont see any why how to work with it.

In water case:
it was good proposal for using best quality water for cattle breading. You cant use there slat water... and if you use dirty water lets say your production from this building will be lowered to 50% ...
Medium quality water in joinerys... curently there is no use in these joinerys for water because they work already with wood. Joinery is joinery... not saw mill. btw try to convince ppl in saw mill to use salt water on wood and you will see :lol:
Very hard think will be to make balance because of multiple water qualitys lvl. Lets just think some1s wish comes true and hour after this will be in game. Why would be water producer producing clean water when selling salt water or dirty water makes him already very nice money?
...so first wish must be an alliance or clan :lol:

In power case:
power consumer is using power. Power is just power. Clean or dirty power is only because of inputs.... but outputs are always same... from clean inputs you get "only" power. From dirty inputs you get again "only" power.
Changing anything in this case would be again useless.
You use power and do you care if you gat in from wind power plant in sounth, or coal plant in north, or oil plant in east... or nuclear in west. You just want your power.

...and when you change (increase) price for water and power it will raise price for other raw material, with will raise price in factorys and then astronomicaly high price in shops....

let just stay with power and water at Q0.

Ever see Keeping Up Appearances?

The Bucket Woman is always calling the water utility and complaining that she is getting "used" water and it isn't quite so sparkling as it comes out of her gold plated taps. She calls the electric company and demands that the power doesn't go through a poor neighborhood before it hits her house. She bothers the milk man to make sure her milk comes from properly breeded cows that are raised on a rich person's estate.

The "chicken and egg" argument doesn't make sense because the NPC player never runs out of supply on the market. If you want to have more fun, make the NPC player go down every couple of days.

Sushi, it is okay to suggest changes to the game. They don't want to leave it as it is. The sticky in the forum "Suggestions and Proposals" thanks us for our suggestions. Tweaking the whole game engine is implied and there is no intention to leave it as it is because it is already fun as is. If they don't want to make changes, why would they ask you to make suggestions?

what about things like windmills, and tidal harnesses as another building choice?

im Not saying anything about quality because you cannot make power higher quality, although you can buy bottled water lol.

windmills and things like that, have them cost more but in turn produce more then a normal power plant would.

this is the only idea i can come up with for changing power production/optimizing it lol.
