Production Times Problem

Post by Guest » 15.05.2007, 08:48

I have a problem with the way the program displays and calculates production times per unit.

For example, I have a 500m Factory in france I want to produce Gas in. The stated production time is 0:0:1 h (I am at businessman level). I wish to produce as much as In 24 hours as I can because I tend to log in at about the same time each day. So I do the calculation:

24*60*60 = 86400 * production time of 1 = 86400 Units

I put this on to produce. However the production time comes out at 41+ hours.

The production time per unit is actually approx 1.73s per unit. I have no way of knowing this unless I recorded it from an earlier use or perhaps went onto kapitools (which I can't read and would rather not have to visit every time I want to put on a production run).

So I would like to see production times per unit stated more accurately going down into fractions of seconds (similar to power and water prodution).

Also It would be useful to have a confirmation screen between pressing the 'produce now' button and the production actually starting which states the materials, cost and production time. Similar to what happens now but with a 'confirm' and 'cancel' option rather than the current 'back' option with no choice as to if the production happens or not.

Thanks

In your production menu you have also the number stating the production output per hour. I guess this should cover all your needs concerning accuracy (actually I don't usually leven ook at the time per unit number)

i always go by the amount per hour, not time in seconds.

definitely there should be a confirmation button

there is one when placing wares in the shop and it is completely useless, because if you make a mistake there, you can only loose the transport fee, which is nothing compared to what you can loose by making mistake when setting the production

Kapitools will give you the 24 hour number easily.

But yeah, use the hour figure for calculations. The other way is not only more multiplying, but you're starting off with rounding errors.
