Contest Query [Not the item]

The contest timer on the stats page shows 105:50 hrs left for this weeks contest, which means its ends approx this weekend. But the Newspaper says

The Contest ends on Friday, August 17th, 2007. Contracts have to be sent by that Friday 23:00 GMT (forum time) at the latest! That means: 24:00 server time!

So which is it?

at this time its useless to keep trying to hide the contest product, everyone and theyr dog already know what it is.
besides imo contests are for everyone to join in, not just some bozos that show great googling skills.
