Fire Opal?

Might I know what and why these are used?

it is a quest item, you get it when you finish a quest, presented to you by the system.
The opal is worth points.
See "score" at the menu on your left ingame.

score/points do NOTHING except make you look good

Eg if i was extremely rich on realm 2 I would be out buying these things like mad to get a high ranking in the score section and it would just make me look good. It's like owning coins. They sell for a lot and are nice to have around. Only difference is status symbols have no use except to get you higher on the score board

People do pay a lot for them though
