contest certificates, what are they?

The newspaper shows how many contest certificates one gets for the contest but I can't find what certificates do. Can they be cashed in for something special? Are they used to determine the 'contest stats total'?

If this information exists elsewhere please let me know and I will delete this thread.

Best I can tell they will be a status item worth 10 points each. Like the wines and gems and so on.

yes, they are handled like status symbols and will appear in your hall of fame. so you can also trade with them.
