Expanding special buildings

As a plan to fritter away my money (not really, just wanted to increase my score), I expanded my status building but got no points out of it including when I hired more people. Does expanding these buildings have any value?

Expanding a special building does not increase your score unlike building a special building.

For the Special buildings Kindergarden, Nursing Home, Homeless Shelter, Hospital and Community Building when you hire a new employee you get a new task to complete. If you complete the task you get points.

If you expand one of the others which dont have tasks you get nothing- except fixed assets of course
