What makes a good seller a good seller

Take wardrobes for eg.

Presumably when realm 2 started wardrobes were no more lucrative than anything else, yet now offer the best or one of the best returns for your money.

Could anybody enlighten me ?

the game mechanics. some products just make more money than others

So are you saying that when realm 3 starts wardrobes are going to be the best product to produce ?

Ok then so really you don't know the answer.

I know that some products are better sellers than others due to demand.
I also know that very high quality brings very high prices from the NPC.

So is it simply a question of getting a very high quality in a product there is a demand for ?

3 Reasons I can see
1-Price. Its set on player price so if everyone charged 9000ea for apples the price would be 9k
2-Demand. Self expalintory
3-Market share. Big players with larger share = higher overall prices

i do but you are unable to ask a question in a way to get the info you want

and hh,

1. you cant price 9k on apples becuase you will not sell any, even if the stats price is at max. which would be very low.
2. demand doesnt affect sales in this game, except when its lower than supply
3. correct, but it still doesnt make most products more profitable than others.

to be merciful, the game is simply made that way that some products give you more profit than others

any further question?

How else can I ask what makes a product a best seller ?

I THINK the answer is as HH suggested, maintain dominance in the market and slowly raise the price you sell at. Of course as it becomes more profitable to make the product because of the high selling price, more people jump on the bandwaggon and dominance is harder to maintain.

Also to go a little further
I'm not sure its right say supply and demand doesn't affect the price.
admitedly the optimum price won't change but the more demand is satisfied the longer it takes to sell your goods. so to maintain the level of sales you have to reduce your price.
At least thats the way I see it.

you are the one asking questions not me  and no, supply&demand doesnt work as in real life. if it would, then tires would go in a flash. but they dont. so it is about game mechanics, you simply cant make much moneyon perfumes, even if you have total dominance on market and q534 perfumes. on wardrobes you can make decent money even though theres a lot of supply and even if you have moderate quality.

Could explain game mechanics please.

Has the game already set wardrobes to be one of the most productive ?

There we go greed see how much eaiser it is to play nice and answer the poor little noobs questions without the tiresom preamble of insulting them no matter how much they need it? (no one here does) my longest sentance yay!
I still stand by the fact that if you held all the apple supplies/stores you could make equal or more than wardrobes, prove me wrong

Hi-jacking your thread comences here:
Are you a he or a her greed?
Guy or doll?
Little Mr or Miss?
Male or Female?
Jack or Jill?
The untimate question

The ONLY way apples could make equal or more profit is if everybody sold wardrobes for 1 cap each. (Apple price cap is 24c)

There is a price cap on every product. That doesn't mean you cannot price your product higher than the price cap. It does mean that every product above the average price, and lower than the average quality, will be issued a MUCH slower sale time. If you placed 1 apple in a Grocery store for 9,000 it would not sell. (Try it yourself. The sale time will be so long it will say "No sale".)

On this version of the game the best money makers are:
Wardrobes
Golden Necklaces
Diamond Rings
Leather Jackets
Cabriolets
Gas
Oil
...

However, if we get the new version of the game, Realm 3, it won't change a bit. (Welt 5 has a number of new products that give a much better profit.)

   The great thing about this game is there is no real way to "win". You can play with your own goals. My goal on Realm 1 is to produce and sell the highest quality Pullovers. My goal on Realm 2 is to help my fellow TIB members by selling them stone at cheap prices.

Stop referring to the noobs as noobs please.
They are not noobs, they are just people who are starting to play a new game.
If anyone should be called noobs it is us, for spending so much free time on a stupid virtual game while we could have used that valuable time to do something constructive and useful in our real lifes.
