u thibk wood is a good busines too
Maybe people producing would should have a look at cotton.
Right now market low for cotton is 70 each and production cost of cotton is about -10 compared to wood including smaller production.
Cotton is sure getting close to beating the wood industry :o

but you also produce fewer

cotton is growing because textiles are needed more
and it is easier to have higher q cotton than high q wood
but i wont switch

it is a good business too. and better if you have textiles factories too
at 4000m 3 plantations can suport 4 textiles factories to make textiles
and you can buy some high q cattle from farmboy and make leather
then leather jackets

i dont think anybody is buying cotton
they buy textile, am i right?

Well, all batches below 70 have been sold.
Its a small market, but at 70 i'm sure profit beats low Q wood.
I just started producing some extra cotton, but i indeed have some textile factories :)

Switching might be useless for many, especially those who produce high Q wood.
But wood price prolly won't rise much due to the NPC at 75.
Cotton can still go up due to no NPC and textiles being needed for LeatherJackets as you wrote.
Long term i'm not sure wood can beat cotton due to that.

I did math on the cotton vs. wood profit some time ago, but i don't remember the exact results.
I think it was something like wood had to be +10 each to be a better profit then cotton even with lower production, but maybe i should do the math again during the next few weeks when i'm bored again :P

I totally agree with you.

And one more reason to produce cotton: its production cost is much lower than wood.
F.i. you need to keep about 10 mil to start next round of wood production, but you need to keep only about 2 mil to start cotton production. Thus you can spend the rest 8 mil on expansions or something else.

I like cotton, but unfortunately supply on realm2 is more than demand, and cotton price is much lower (about 50-52c per each). I have compared profit from wood q12 and cotton q0 for me, and cotton should be about 58c to become as profitable as wood. Unfortunately nobody wants to buy it for this price :(
