sale time 10 minutes

Post by Guest » 15.02.2009, 23:11

I have a question about saletime.
When I put 1 gold necklace q9 for 6000 in a 5000m2 shop it takes 10 minutes to sell.
When I put 2 necklaces, it also takes 10 minutes.
And all the way up to 17 necklaces, it takes 10 minutes to sell...!?

Ok, lets just go from 17 necklaces in 10 minutes to selling 102 necklaces in 1 hour, because 6x17 = 102
right?
Wrong!!!
It takes 57 minutes and 20 seconds. :x

And to make it even easier:
18 necklaces take 10 minutes and 7 seconds.
19 necklaces take 10 minutes and 40 seconds.
20 take 11 minutes and 40 seconds..
Grrr!!

Where is the logic in all this?
What do I miss? :?

The more I try to figure this out the more I get tangled up in some crazy maze of numbers and calculations...
I believe i am going mad..

At my own esperience I have given up to understand the logic behind the sales, it was quite easy to figure the algorithms for production to develop my excel file, but with sales well, if you try in diferent hours you will have diferent values (example: in my furniture stores in Germany with 10.000sqm if I load them with 20.000 wardrobes at 23:00 at the price of 5.500 caps each i have around 90 hours to sell all, but if I load them around 01:00 I have around 86 hours to sell all stock). So just try to see wich is the best hour to load your stores and do cycles of 24/48/72 hours to reload them, and give up to try to understand the logic before you get nuts.

You cannot sell anything in less than 10 minutes. That is why you could sell 1 item or 17 items.

@ SiberianTiger: This difference can has a very important reason.
Somewhere between 24:00 and 03:00 (servertime) the stats are updated. That's why the sale-times may differ.

@ Azer: Correct! :)
The reason for this is an easy one. It is some kind of a "limit".
It can happen that you make a mistake setting the correct price (a typo, etc.). And when you set the price too low the consequence would be that selling goes straight ahead.
And now imagine the problem if you e. g. forget a 0 while selling cars... and all your cars would be sold within a few minutes...
This 10 minute-mark shalll give you the opportunity to check your sales after you set them.

Well I see now it is not possible to calculate sellingtime without just testing it.
Thanks for the insight, at least I can stop trying now.
I will try the different hours to load my stores and see what difference it makes.
Thanks. :D

you can calculate, only not the low price limit with 1 item :P try selling full rack with normal price, it will give you the basic idea of how selling time behaves with respect to the price and quality of your product

when you got that figured out you can move to calculating how the average price and quality in stats affect your sales

As soon as my brain is functioning again within normal parameters..Image
