lack of money for production

Post by Guest » 09.02.2009, 19:14

Hello!

I'm a wood producer and my usual price for q0 was 65 caps.
Today I have encountered a very difficult situation: nobody from my customers accept my contracts.
I have checked the market: 60 caps for q13! It's a wood crisis!

Ok, but my main question is: where do I get money to continue the production?
Should I sell a pair plantations and use this money?
Maybe it's better to put my wood on market for a very low price? But I don't have money to put my wood on market :(
How do you resolve urgent problems with money deficiency?

Haha new players, good thing you werent here a few years ago price of wood was in the 30's i believe.

For your money send me the contract (realm 1 only) I will buy it from you this time.

Other than that I cant tell you much, you would either have to restart or sell some of your buildings.

Thank you for your proposal, but I'm in Realm2 :)
I have got some money from one contract, but the question remain: what is the best method to get money when you urgently need it?
Or what is the best method to avoid going out of money? Because I spent almost everything on expansion and new buildings.

Build some stores, like furniture stores and joineries and start producing wardrobes and selling them on stores; in this way you stop been dependent from your custommers.

also you could buy coins with real money and sell them for kapi money

but as SiberianTiger said you could build stores then joineries

but I would suggest you build something that doesnt require a lot of products to produce it but still brings in your money, such as chairs and tables.

The best method is easy.
You actually wrote it yourself there...

Don't spend all your money on expansion and new buildings.

Yeah, good suggestion :)
But as I know, money should work: more money in expansion and building - more profit in the future. Sometimes it's difficult to find a balance.

The Q13 wood at 60 was a fluke. Currently the lowest priced wood on the market is 69.

I'll buy a couple thousand of your wood at 65 to help you out if you need. Realm2, and the company name is Highland.

Send me all the wood you can produce, I always need it and I always pay 66 for Q0.
:D

The balance between spending money on buildings/expansions and saving money, is having enough to pay your 10% marketfee when you send your products there and then still have some left, say around 1% of your Fixed Assets.
You should always try to more or less save that much if possible.

How about cancelling your contracts sent to sunday players and selling your wood to players who care about their suppliers 8)

Yes, it's better than to wait for so long time :)
Fortunately I have sold my wood at that time, but periodically I meet this problem. I have decided to keep enough cash for 24 hours production cycle (usualy I start my production twice a day), and some more for market fee (as sally advised). But it's so much money.... I cannot look at that big sum which doesn't work for my prosperity :)

Okay, thanks everybody for your suggestions, I will try to find a balance. The main thing is to not be avaricious :)

It is.
It happens to me to, don't worry :P

But i usually set buildings to produce at least 1 week, especially those who can be cancelled (Q0 producing stones/wood/power) so when i'm short on cash i can easily change the production from 200 hours to 50 and have some spare cash again.

This however isn't great cuz it means you have a lot of cash not really doing anything.
Just keeping 10M in spare cash would be the same :P
Good thing about it however, when you suddenly can't get online for a week, your production won't stop either.
So its a kind of 2 way security, either you are sure your production won't stop or you have spare cash when in need.

Its just a business decision, you either risk running out of cash and grow real fast, or you grow less fast but won't run out of cash :)
Decisions, decisions, decisions :P

Its always good to have some stores, which you can clear (get money from sales) when you need the cash.
