Expansion time way to long
Well, i was upgrading my 3000m2 Power Plant to maximum size and it will take me 16.000 hours to get it finished.....
Thats 2 years, i should wait 2 years to finish my building, is that normal ?

It takes about 22 months to fully expand a mine or well. But it would take some multiple of that to expand all your buildings, since some would have to stay in service to pay for expansion. That's just years and years, too long in my view.
I understand the game (English version) is only about 2 years old. Do we even have any fully expanded mines? (Some other buildings take less time to expand.)

Mines and power plants aren't great buildings to fully expand.Straw Man wrote:It takes about 22 months to fully expand a mine or well. The result of the last few meters is just so low people probably won't give it a try untill they really need to, but rather choose to buy from the market.
A shop doesn't drop in performance when its size gets up, therefor most of the 32K buildings are Shops.
The funny part of the long building time ofcourse is those big buildings being very expensive making it a good investment for people who build them.
Again, dropping the building time would be a to large change hurting those who play longer so much it just can't be changed.
And isn't that the fun of the game, trying to get those buildings at some point??
This just isn't a game you just play for 2 weeks and then quit.
You are either willing to continue for at least 2 years or you don't...and those who aren't just shouldn't bother about 30K buildings.
And who cares it takes 2 years to build??
I do it in steps and probably it takes me 4 years, but i've regularly taken a break anyway during those last 20 months of playing this game

You can start things and take a break and return when you feel like it again, i just love that part of the game

I've been playing several online games like travian and utopia.
Travian you don't login for 2 days and the result of 6 months of work is destroyed.
Utopia you leave the game and it used to be impossible to get back in with your old team mates, at least when you honoured the rules

Over here i can take a break and return to see old mates still active and just continue where you left.
You can login 1x a week without being hurt for a real long time.
Not to many games like that around where also strategy is involved.
And should you know some, tell me in igm...i always love finding new great games

I totally agree about the taking a break aspect of this game. I used to play Tribal Wars, a game similar to Travian, and if you didn't log in at least once a day, you could lose months of work. For me, that's too much pressure. I much prefer a game like this where you can play when you feel like it and still get results, albeit more slowly.
this is very true, i have a 5600m2 power plant in red that produces 546820.77 power an hour, and then i have a 13600m2 power plant in red that only produces 722408.51 an hour! thats only 175,588 more an hour, which (in today's market of 0.24 for power) only makes me an extra $38,000 more an hour. So no, power plants are not great for expanding.Ronintje wrote: Mines and power plants aren't great buildings to fully expand.
