Writers for newspaper?

Post by Free-Way Gas Productions » 11.03.2007, 17:00

Hmm... i see that tycoon is searching for writers for the newspaper, and says that it will require many hours of work. Im wondering if we recieve any sort of "Bonus" for these long hours, or are people doing it out of the goodness of their hearts? Perhaps a premium account upgrade as long as you are a writer would be a good bonus?

Yes, business poeple have to see where to get as much profit as possible ;-)

But I have to disappoint you: working on the newspaper is supposed to be just a "hobby".

aww :( perhaps the writers can have a profile in the newspaper where they can use the space for the public to see to benefit there company? Like a newspaper showcase, could be sort of like a fax :) . Or atleast do the writers get to put there company name on the newspaper somewhere, so they are known by the public, and could potentially lead to making contracts and deals since our names would be fresh in readers minds?

Normally the name or the company name is written under the article and the editors are also shown in the imprint

If you want to make money of a newspaper. Create your own and sell ads in it. Then link to the newspaper in a fax or something. With enough readers it could be possible.

And in real life people do work for free. Its kinda fun that this discussion would involve a newspaper since many many many many journalists work for free at first in hope of getting something later on. And who knows... maybe you will get some coins if you become chief editor.

I thinks you wont make money with it because you have to find someone who send you

if my name is published under the ad, and its a popular ad that means almsot all of the kapilands members would be seeing my name, which would be good publicity. And next time they are deciding who to sell gas to for 2 people are offering the same price, they will be like : Oh thats free-way from the newspaper, he wrote a good story ill sell it to him isntead of some random person. So it could work to the writers benefit, also i can publish stories about myself haha :D, if allowed

Exactly, so even if you did write for the newspaper without getting money you would get PR. One definition of PR is that its free or at least very cost efficient.

Yes sure: the names of the editorial staff will be published in both the imprint and the articles...

Furthermore they get a "rank name" here in the forum under their nick name (like the mods etc).

If I think of something to write I will send it in. Are the articles supposed to be written as if there was a person inside kapilands writing or just as a player playing kapilands?

I think this depends on the topic. So it is up to you how to do that. In the beginning of the newspaper, it is maybe better to write as a player... but this is just a quick thought on this at the moment...
