Prices

Post by LetsTrade » 15.07.2008, 10:02

How much can I pay for products without being banned, lets say bananas? Bananas are not the contest product right now but everyone needs bananas because Banana Ice Cream is.

And how much can i pay for power, water, wood, stone, anything, without being in the danger zone?

nobody can give you exact numbers...
just pay the market price or around the actual market price and it is ok.

And if you are cool enough, you can test it with power how much you can pay... and give us after beeing banned the figures

So paying 100-150 for bananas is way too much? I must pay more like 50 max?

around 100~150 for banana is ok currently I think. Because they are parts of a contest product. Think you can even go higher.

at least, I'm selling my bananas around this price ;)

check the market anyway, you will even see higher prices.

But I read somewhere that you can only offer the contest product for higher prices, and not the ingredients, Admin said this. So I wouldnt go higher then 100c, i think 100 is max in the danger zone.

Well, raw materials have the NPC which effectly limits the price. You always get some silly offers of 100,000 cap wood, but for example power - paying over 0.27 would be cheating in my eyes

Doesn't sound familiar to me.

Anywhere the market goes, you're safe. There's a long history of things going for 10-20 times what they're usually worth because of a contest, and that goes for final goods as well as inputs.

Now if your contract price is double what the market is, that would be weird. But any price that is "market tested" should be ok.

Maybe I got it wrong then somehow, I guess I should be ok then only if my motives are not to cheat, if you can trust the admin... Do you get banned if you buy bananas for 300 caps when the contest product is banana ice cream? Not that i would pay that much, but maybe very rich companys on the top.

Well if you were doing that I might want to call your attention to the current market listings for 215 and 235. But of course those are small quantities also. So if you had a nice high-volume deal at 300, it wouldn't seem odd in the slightest.

You need 2 bananas for every banana ice cream, so it would be crazy for me to buy bananas for 300 each if i sell them for 650, no profit. :(

The contest have been bad for me so far because i dont have enough ingredients and the prices for bananas are really high and everything is a mess.

I built some Fruit Factorys so i can produce bananas myself but it will still not be enough. But it might help since i wont need to buy as many expensive bananas so my profits for each sold banana ice cream will be greater.
