buying more buildings...
i recently purchased a power plant and im now producing power but at a very very slow rate. i was wondering if anyone thinks it would be more profitable for me to build my self another power plant so i can reduce the production time of my first power plant in half. right now it is taking me around 140 hours to make 1,500,000 power. if i cut that in half it would be more fast. what does everyone think about this...?
Alright, the most efficient way to expand a business is to buy even more building to produce with. You could also expand, but you'd get the same result for much more money. We want to keep it cheap.
Using www.kapitools.de (production output calculator) I found out that:
A merchant with a power plant in green running for 132 and 3 hired employees in it will make 2.106.798,03 kWh for the 132 hours and 15.960,59 each hour.
All the calculations were done as if the the power plants were of someone with the level of merchant.
Although the Construction Materials had costs that were a bit expensive to what you'd normally buy for expansion, they were the same price in both examples. Therefore, they can be used to make a comparison between expanding and buying a new building, but not to measure how much it would really take to either purchase or expand a building.

If you buy another power plant, expand it another 10 m2 (so it now has 30m2) and hire 2 employees more (the building already includes 1 employee) I'll estimate the costs with the default price of materials for kapitools.
18.000 (1k stones)
+ 67.500 (500 steel)
+ 6.000 (100 wood)
+ 35.625 (10m2 expansion)
+ 6.000 (2 more employees)
= 133.125 caps entirely
With both power plants, you can now make 4.213.596,06 kWh in the same 132 hours and 31.921,18 each hour.
This proves that buying new buildings to increase your production is much better than expanding a building. Unless you don't have many building spaces available, you should buy buildings before considering expansion. Expanding buildings give you a bit less production for much more cost. In this case, 3 times the cost.If you expand the same power plant, you'd have to expand the power plant with 3 employees to become a 60m2 and 6 employees to be able 4.152.233,01 kWh each 132 hours and 31.456,31 kWh each hour. You'd have a lesser quantity produced for much more cost.
54.000 (3k stones)
+ 202.500 (1.5k steel)
+ 18.000 (300 wood)
+ 106.875 (30m2 expansion)
+ 9.000 (3 more employees)
= 390.375 caps entirely
With this building alone, you can make 4.152.233,01 kWh every 132 hours and 31.456,31 kWh each hour.

thats what i did with my first building before i built my second. i expanded it and added an employee. this was in the green zone. i built my second buidling in the red zone though so i could produce faster. though, i only added one employee to this buidling because its alrady producing 25 percent faster from being in the red territory. when i start making profit from selling power i should eventually remake all that money i sepnt on building. thats a really good stategy for power plant builders.
