Please change the names of Pork and Cows to something else as it affects the religious sentiments of two major communities in this world

Huh?

If something goes against your religious beliefs, you don't have to produce or buy it. Pork and cows exist in the world. I think that people can handle some words in a game.

Hmmm... we have pigs in the game and cattle(cows). What do you want the name changed to swine and bovine? To me that makes it even worse. ;)

This game isn't about religion, it is about economics.

Like even I know, its a game of economics 'duh'

Besides it was a proposal only to change a name and not shutdown the game!!!

My request again to kapi moderators to change it.

What would changing the name do?

I propose that Farm should change his name since pigs and cows are raised on farms. This could be "offensive" to somebody.....somewhere...

Don't take my opinion to seriously on this kind of matter, I generally don't care about this kind of stuff.

I take it you mean Judaism/Islam for pigs and Hinduism for cows.

I can't see why a jew or muslim should have a problem with the names, if i recall my school days correctly those religions consider the pig an unclean animal that shouldn't be used as food. Well, they're not going to eat it, so why should it be a problem. (I know they are sold in groceries, but still...)

When it comes to hindus(?) I have a better understanding that it can be a problem. My memory tells me a hindu will not kill a cow.

As far as my feelings go I think these people should be able to stay away from businesses involving these animals if they have a problem with it. Another thing is, this are virtual pigs/cows, so I don't really see the problem, but then again, I've blown the whole world up multiple times in virtual games.

To me, in the end, it all comes down to separating the real world and the virtual world.

PS: If someone will stand forward and say they truly have a problem with the names, I'll support them to have the names changed, as long as it seems to be for real.

Not that my Hinduism is particularly excellent, but I understand that it has to do with the tiers of reincarnated spirits. It's not that cows are "holy," but rather that they are high enough on the spiritual roster, close enough to human, that it would be wrong.

And the problem as you say with pigs is that they are considered "unclean."

I have no problem with anyone who choosed not to use these products. But there is a far cry between not using something yourself and not allowing anyone to use it.

I'm a Hindu, the actual reason has to do with the fact it was the favorite animal of a certain incarnation of one of our Gods. In addition, cows are life-givers, providing milk for nutrition, and dung for fire and fertillizer. n fact, many houses are even built out of cow manure in India, even today. May sound disgusting, but a recent study showed that most animal manure can be cleaner than many people's mouths. Due to their life-giving power cows were valuable to trade and sell, much like thier milk had a high price on the market, although they were never bought to be killed.

And I don't mind killing virtual cows. They're fake. Period.

Ah, much simpler than I thought. Thank you for the correction, and I think my 6th grade world cultures teacher owes me an apology.

Not so uncommon. Settlers in the American midwest did the same thing.
