please guys... aren't contests supposed to be there in order to help smaller firms get bigger? Why on EARTH would you pick wood as a contest product that is produced by the majority of the 3-4 biggest players in Realm 2 themselves.

Nothing against Dominance, on the contrary, I think he's great, but him selling 500k of the contest product just completely defeats its purpose, doesn't it?

It's sad to see that the mods of this game don't think a second before they initiate a - probably randomly created - contest product...

i think it mabye isn't random, if they looked at me being top company and what i buy, they would see that i buy 600-900k wood per day in contracts, ( hence why i have a stock of around 4million wood, 3.2mil q0 and rest mixed)

i'll do my part for a few days to pump some money into the realm with the contest but i think after a few days i will just not be able to afford it

also if domiance starts sending me hudge contracts of wood im going to cancle them, because i believe what socronoss says and that contest are about helping out smaller companys

I supposed the choice of wood is well thought-off, look at the previously long-depressed wood market..even wood Q0 is selling for 70c now. That's good news for the small producers. I believes thus the choice of wood for the contest is having an indirect impact on the profitability of smaller producers.

Personally, though, I would have been more happy to see an end product, rather than raw material..being a company that's too small to be big, but too big to be small.

i wouldn't look too much into q0 being 70, after contest is over that will drop back to around 23-25, it seems like im the only one really buying mass amount of wood, but im buying probley x2-3 more then i need and yeah im going to be takeing a small break to eat up my stocks abit

I don't believe there will ever be any of the Q0 only raw materials: power, water and stone. It would be MUCH to easy to buy from the NPC. Wood and steel at Q1 or higher is a different story.

A Q2 Car contest would be real nice to boost virtually every resources in the game. Then again, the tentacles of inflation are always far-reaching, and could easily consign even the economy of this game into oblivion, especially a young market like Realm 2's. [i supposed the NPC raw material prices are a measure against this, aren't them?]

i would rather like to see a wood based product, like furniture or wooden toys being the contest product than wood.

contests don't only impact the contest product, but also its raw materials, so fex wooden toys would in addition to impact the entire toy line also after the contest (more people would probably make toys afterwards) and also raise wood prices

power, water and seeds q0 (i'm thinking about npc) are abundant and can easily make q1 wood. to make q1 wooden toys (or tables) q1 wood would be useful to many with less research and i believe the total impact would be even better

PS: i'm hoping to join the current contest when i'm done with a bit of restructuring to adjust to the new oil market

The idea is to stimulate the smaller firms. So to do this I think it's better product to be from plantation or fruit plantation, because we have these and may be power plants or wells. Right ?

i agree with what others have said about this contest should of been for more end product, all this contest is going to do it bring more wood makers into the industry, and after the contest is over it won't help the wood makers, if anything it will hurt them as all of a sudden there will be more wood on the market

the wood price has been kept so low for so long because it seems on r2 im the only major buyer of wood that i know, and everyone keeps on sending it to me, i don't really have any large compatition to buy the wood up, so yeah i agree this could of been for a more end produst like toys or table or something like that,
