Small Suggestion for Expansion with possible big effects!

Post by Guest » 22.02.2008, 03:49

Steel sits at RAW MATERIAL because of expansion, Stones and Wood can drop but always come back to RAW M. cost at some point. So why not add water and power to the mix! This will help these markets definitely fluctuate more with supply and demand and obviously rise closer to RAW M. cost which never happens. BONUS too, it will drive up cost and prices on everything else. It doesnt have to be a significant amount, just the factor its needed will cause a small inflation over a considerable amount of products. More prepared and balanced corporations that produce within will be stronger, others will PAY. Just my two cents.

P.S. nothing should be too expensive to sell in a SALE store, they should just have to wait forever! Now its two cents.

no he wants water and power added into the building materials, i can see power maybe but not water. There is no way water could be added into the building materials

water is needed for concrete, and most building most stick together with some material

ooh that way - well that would really change game's economy a lot :P

but well - power and water seems to be needed for building but what quantites should be introduced for it (well it's a ncie idea but i'm against it as i would have to pay much mroe for my buildings :> )

and - do you really think that making water and power price rise any further is a good solution? 2 weeks ago power was at the level of 0.05-0.06 per unit (market prices) and now it almost double - it's 0.09-0.10 per unit (market price). Dont know about water price variations as i dont use water.

By adding power and water to building materials you would make prices go another 50% up at least. Do you really think that Realm2 (on Realm1 prices are already sky-high) can handle that much? I know that ppl earning on water and power would earn a lot but if they would like to expand or do something else than power, the money they've earned thanks to new power price would go to cover the growth of prices of all other products.

And well it's not that good for economy - because shop selling price is based on average price, quality etc. So with production costs going up, selling price would go up as well but there would be "dead period" - for some time ppl selling goods in stores would earn much less money because it takes some time for statistics to change their value. And at that period ppl would earn significantly less. So they wouldn't expand so much, buy so many products etc.

So well i dont think that you will find many ppl interested in such a change (beside power & water producers)

Hell as a power buyer i must say NO!

i am against it to
i make wood daily and i buy my water and power i would not make as much profit of it as i make now
now make profit like 30 caps per unit with a high wood
but if the power and water rise this would drop to like 15-20 caps
and lets not talk about the costs for expanding buildings
so i am totally against this

i don't like the idea of requiring even more materials for building/expanding buildings

however i've been thinking for a while about this other thing. should perhaps production rate for steel be increased slightly to allow it (relatively) profitably below npc price, and to increase supply so that it sometimes can drop below npc

Add power and water and bring down amount of steel needed, whatever the difference is of expanding from before can be offsetted by increase the base cost of expanding. NO ONE SAVES and markets get help.

I, too am against the idea. The current building products have some but limited use outside the building trade.

Water and especially power are very basic commodities that already have a huge demand for manufacturing. Adding them to building would, I believe, do nothing except make building more expensive and inconvenient.
