Whats the point of extending a building??

I calculated...And I found that to extend 20m2 in a building...you need:
Green Area = 190000~ kaps
Yellow Area = 200000~ kaps
Red Area = 210000~ kaps

Why would you extend it if extension simply costed more than buying another building?

I know ther are some buildings that may cost more than 200k...But most dont...

Please help shed light on this mystery
