I am stupid
I built a textile factory in a yellow zone- was that stupid? SHould I sell it and rebuild in green zone? Or red zone? I read on these forums that you should build all factories except steel in red zone- or is it the other way around?
With kapitools it looks like my yellow zone factory was a complete waste. It cost more, has no production bonus- produces same as in green zone! What a blunder. I expanded it too to 30 m2! Man do I suck...
Ok no more factories outside of green zone !
Alright but where should I build my RCs ?? Does it REALLY pay off to place them in red zone? I guess so since the research costs do not increase but you do get speed bonus, right? just scientists cost more?

Yeah I would always put research in a red zone. Speed is just too important.
Yellow is only for mines and wells. (And maybe sales in some rare instances, but only if there is a severe average quality difference between there and red.)
You should generally think red for most factories and green the special exception. This will tend to be true anyplace the production cost is high relative to the materials and selling price. So TV stations definitely in green (not a great idea anyway). Electronics factories in green. At a normal factory Steel and maybe Silicon, but not anything else.
Textile definitely in red. If you're talking Realm1 I actually have some I can sell you, though I can't help if you're in Realm2.
No factories in yellow though. It costs more and doesn't produce more. It will always underperform for you, so better to sell it now and reinvest that money in something more useful.

OK I actually want to be a Textiles producer. Right now, leather and leather gloves. (Realm2).
Is it wise to do a what's-it-called organization where you produce everything from top down? So I have factories producing the leather gloves, leather, cattle, corn and finally water ? Or just concentrate on textiles- leather and leather gloves- alone. And pray I can find a reliable source for quality cattle?

well if the market stays the same as realm 1, which it is, for now
try paying 100+5*Q
if you think that is two high work out a deal with your supplier like
Q0 = 100
Q1 = 103
Q2 = 109
Q3 = 115
Q4 = 117
(it depends on what you want to pay and what your seller will accept)
but i sell my Q10 cattle for 155
I was selling for 100+5*Q, but when i hit the double digits i upped the price buy another 5 so instead of getting 150 i get 155, but for Q11 I will get 160, and when i reach either Q15 or Q20 i will change the price thing altogether

Yes, I was a stupid noob once
(probably still am). They do say it takes one to know one. Sry if you think this is spam but I couldn't leave your thread subject alone.
In R1 you could/can buy cattle for less or there abouts than the cost of production (taking research costs in etc.). Buy your cattle so you don't have to worry about researching corn and cattle. If you really and truly have to make your own cattle, try buying your corn and get the highest Q available.
High quality is, after all, what you need in the textile racket. Expanding and funding the research might just hold you back too much.
It's up to you in the long run.
FYI: Most of the world leather supply is from India. I wish we would stop using leather in the real world because not many people know what goes on in the real leather game... Very sad. I will never own a fur coat either.

No building it in yellow area was dumb, dumb, dumb. But now I know better.
I have not yet decided though whether to sell it right away or wait until I reach building cap. I am leaning towards just keeping it running until I hit the cap.
If I ever build a Steel Mill or a TV Station though I'll be sure to use Green area- everything else in red!
