There are products that use steel and appreciate quality. Wardrobes, TVs, Monitor, Cars ...

The vast majority of steel is used for building. The NPC's unlimited supply is very important there, and holds at 135. This means most steel buyers by contract will offer somwhere between 133 flat and 132 + 2q (approximately).

So the answer is that yes people do want it higher quality steel, but won't pay too much for just a q1 since q0 is always available.

ah, yes, no, maybe so.
I don't bother and you might as well not either,
I use all of my steel for upgrades, where the quality does not matter.
After you research chemicals enough it will raise your steel quality weather you like it or not.

Chances are that anybody looking to buy steel for the quality is not going to be that impressed by Q1, so I doubt this is the boon you are looking for.

Best check out the textile market(s) instead to make the big cash.

Oh and Knolls, don't mean to show you up but TV's and monitors don't use steel but computers do.

Really? I thought they did. But then I never made them. My bad, thanks for the correction.

To OP,

i currently produce an excess what is probably considered mid-quality steel, q8. i currently have someone who pays 148 for q8. the prices on the faxes for steel have dropped a little in the last few days, but q8 seems to be worth at least 141 to anyone who requires it for production.

of course i understand that no one would rather Q 1 steel when the can actually get Q0 for cheaper. I was just wondering if there was a market for high Q steel, should i get that far. Say Q6 and higher?

Yes, q5 is usually where the price jumps up. Some steel buys pay 133 + .5q unless it is q5 or higher, then they pay around 135-139 for q5 + 3q.

So long as there are people producing Wardrobes, Cars, or Computers there will always be demand for high quality steel.
