Newspaper and Contest?

its been pretty smooth the time ive been here so I think this is very temporary. I think one thing they could do is to get the companies/community more involved in the game. Like players writing articles for the newspaper and coming up with ideas. There s should also be a players committee/board representing the companies to keep things fair and smooth between the developers and the rest of us. Also since the developers have limited resources they should open a donation account so they could actually pay someone to work on kapilands. I m sure we could all chip in a few EUR and get a few hundred together every month.
I don't see how this game is making lots of money. If 1000 players have premium accounts, that's only 24,000/year, which won't pay even one person's salary - never mind the servers, which certainly aren't free. Even if they paid 100 eu for coins to get it that's only 100,000 eu, which isn't much given that it's a once-off event (and I really doubt that kind of buyin is average even in the top 1000). The advertising is from other free/browser games, and they can't pay much because they have similar economics.
That is exactly the problem. The English version is not making much money for upjers (Just a wild guess). But it still cannot be a problem to get a student for 600 EUR a month and let him work 10 hours per week on Kapilands. But I donMauricom wrote:I don't see how this game is making lots of money. Greetings all.
I talked to the developer about this incident and at all we think next week will some problems be fixed.
I hope you all know that it may take a bid more time until all is working fine again, but we really are working on it.
If you will be a bid patient, all will be fine again.

By the way... if you all want to get the KapiTimes back you shouldn't just complain about its absence...
You should go and develope great ideas, good articles, funny stories and so on!
What we need is a working team of editors, people who are willing to invest several hours per week for their hobby, for the newspaper. People, that want to do it because of the KapiTimes and the community and not because they want to get something in return for it!
And as for the next KapiTimes or contest... keep your eyes open.

If I can do it, I'll be glad to help. ^^GoldenEye wrote:By the way... if you all want to get the KapiTimes back you shouldn't just complain about its absence...

I don't think you realize how many people buy coins. Premium accounts are NOTHING for what coins are bought for. They are bought for faxes and more importantly for status symbols for score. Which is why you see faxes that says buying 100,000 coins for 350k. Do you think those 100,000 coins are going for premiums account for the next 5,000 months?? And this is done all the time. Where do the coins come from? Smaller players buy them for real cash and then sell them to the bigger players so they can buy their status symbols and support their faxes, etc. And this is done constantly with several large players. So think about how much money the game really makes. Ask CMB How many coins he has bought from players in just say the last 3 months? Ask Forex, Samba, Trokur or any one you see with a constant post up in Buy/Sell coins or faxes posted for always buying coins.Mauricom wrote:I don't see how this game is making lots of money. Re: people
As I told you earlier: The KapiTimes is a player project and has absolutely nothing to do with the programmers!thomisback wrote:people spend around 100 to 500$ a month on this game!
and we don't get newspaper or things like that!
So please stop discussing those money-questions as you don't have got facts and numbers that you can refer to.
And again... someone complaining without having ideas...

@ Pixie: Well... we need a team of people that are willing to invest several hours per week for the community and the KapiTimes, that are creative, that can write in a proper English, that know the game a bit... they must be reliable and willing to "work" for their hobby.

pls pls i would like to join and i was waitng for this day!
No, there aren't that many coins going to either status symbols or faxes. There are a few dozen faxes a day, tops, so that's only a few euros. Figuring that the first 1000 points can be gotten from building, contests, and quest rewards, there's only about 100,000 status, total, in excess of that. 50,000 coins, or five thousand euro, would have bought all that. So, net, your income sources have produced 5000 euro over the course of the game, plus a few euros a day.Syl wrote: I don't think you realize how many people buy coins. BTW, did you think about where these coins are coming from? I don't think the top players are paying euros for them. They buy them from other players - who bought them for kapi credits. I accounted for that.
