Some way to reduce cheaters...
In this thread i will suggest some way to reduce cheaters and I suggest other people to make a suggestion of way to reduce cheaters.
1. Kapiland let people use 1 computer for the whole family. Cheaters use this advantage to cheat for the main account. So, by limiting the creation of account from a computer with 24hours will reduce that advantage a lot.
2. The same like one. The reseting the account. Cheaters or some people use this to sell cheap steel and other raw materials. So, by limiting the resetting of account only once in 24hours or 48 hours.
Note : I don't know kapi already had these limitation or not as i have tried it yet. but if there is no limitation like this yet, i think it will really reduce lots of cheaters.

starters
i go for expanding the resetting time to 24 hours or more . a good way may be is also to give more money to starters and reduce amounts of steel wood and stones given. starters donnot need all that steel they just sell it , at least this is what i did , just some to build there first 5-10 buildings..............cheaters sell there steel for 0.01 , i saw it many times...........
I have an idea actually. There are pros and cons to it so I'm very curious how people feel about the idea.
Suggestion
Standard disclaimer: I am just a forum mod, and have no say in game design other than suggestions the same as anyone else. So just because I suggest something doesn't mean it might happen.
OK here's the idea:
Standard (free, non-VIP) accounts can not set their own prices.
Basically the system would determine a specific price for anything sold on market or by contract. It would be calculated to be competitive, but the seller would have to accept the price given.
Or, as an alternative, free accounts can't use contracts and have to keep their market sales in a (tight) range.
Pros
The vast vast majority of cheating takes place on free accounts of course. Not many people would be dumb enough to pay for a premium account just to sacrifice it to help their main - especially when getting locked is so much more significant. If they wanted to do that, they could have just sold the extra coins in the first place.
This would take out probably 90% of the cheaters right off the bat, and the other 10% would be punished severely enough so as not to do anything so dumb again.
Cons
The game isn't nearly so fun if you can't set your own prices. I wonder if people on the free setup would get bored before they got hooked, resulting in fewer conversions, not more.
Also they could still receive contracts. It's less common, but people who want to boost a smaller (second) account aht the expense of their main one would still have to be caught by hand.
Thoughts? I'm very curious to hear what people think about this sort of idea. Would it have turned you off immediately, or gotten you to upgrade faster? And what about those who are still on the free account? What do you think?

Sorry Knolls, but i have to agree. Letting the system set the price is a bad idea. I bet nobody will ever be happy with the price the system set.
The contest already mentioned is one flaw and how often did you put wares at the market just 0,01 caps cheaper than anybody else, just to sell them fast? This wont be possible anymore and thats the way most new players make money in the beginning. If the system sets the price and you are unlucky, you dont sell your wares for hours, which, as a new player, lets you quit kapilands very fast.

No I hear you entirely. That's why I would never endorse that kind of approach for the game as a whole. Again the caveat is that it would only be for free accounts, VIP ones are unrestricted.Golden Water wrote:Sorry Knolls, but i have to agree. Letting the system set the price is a bad idea. But if it is that big of a turnoff (and I can completely understand that it might be) then the question is "Does it make you leave or make you upgrade?" And you make a good point about how new players are specifically dependent on fast market sales.
Thanks for the feedback. Everyone else agree?
Knoll @ i agree your suggestion half and other half not agree.
Like you said there should be a system set price. It will be better if the system set price were made by a group of volunteer watch market and set the price which should take the agreement from the admin. For the case of the contest, the system open the price for the contest product then there won't be much problem(i think).
How about this suggestion? Nearly the same as your's but not really the same.
Like for building and researches we can sell it to NPC. So, i think it will be better if we have NPC buying off our products. Will be lower than market but it is good when we just want to destroy the product rather than putting it on the market and for some people who need quick cash will really be good.
Like for steel NPC selling with 135c and buying back with 130c.

I think that new people should be restricted on the selling price of thier products, by new people, I mean a few hours-days.
I was looking at corn prices, and there Q0 corn for 1,000c and more. Mostly by people with under a million assets, which I atribute to being new.
This would also benefit them becuase they wont waste thier money and time selling at extremely high prices that no normal person would pay.
What if Kapiland took into account contest and set a reasonable max, like corn which is roughly around 3c .... so the max price for corn, per peice is 500c. I don't think people will pay 500c per corn even during contest, and it is still high, but not as absurb as 1,000, 3,000, ... and higher prices.

I disagree with Knoll's idea and agree that it would cause a lot of problems. But Knoll's idea managed to inspire me and I came up a possible idea that could be the solution.
Part: 1 (Contracts)
Companies can only send contracts after reaching Retailer level but can still receive contracts from other companies before Retailer Level (because of random events early in the game that includes cheap contracts) as long as the price of the product in the contract is not over the market price. 2 Million is not very difficult to obtain when new and new players don't fully utilize the use of contracts that early in the game.
Part: 2 (Market)
a. Create a new Stats Page for the average price and increase per quality for each product (on the market). To keep the stats correct and avoid manipulation (from overpriced products), only items bought by Other Companies (products that were not bought by the owner of the products) will be counted toward the stats and outliers (greatly overpriced or underpriced products that were bought by other companies) will also not count toward the average. Raw Material NPCs will count toward the average unless considered an outlier.
NOTE: Contest Products sold on the market will be moved to a "Contest Product" average price to avoid manipulation of the other qualities of that product.
b. Add a new method of selling products on the market called "Quick Market". Quick Market will send the products to the market at 5% under the average price (round down to the nearest .01 and includes average increase per quality for products that are not Q0 or Contest Product) with no 10% fee. The product will be listed on the market under the company, "Quick Market", where all the Quick Marketed products of the same quality are grouped together and the Quick Market products will be sold from companies using the "First Come, First Serve" rule so everybody will have a chance. Also to help increase popularity, each day when the average prices are updated, the Quick Market prices will update as well to adjust to the constant change in prices. When companies want to remove their Quick Market off the market, the company can locate their exact products via the "Own Ads" link in the Market and "buy" back the product and the amount of their choice like people do now to remove their products from the market.
NOTE: All Quick Market products that become contest products will be returned back to the proper companies and will not be available for Quick Market until the average price for Contest Product is set.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that Quick Market can be used by a button in the Warehouse above the area where players enter the price for the market.

I dislike the idea that none VIP players could be the only people to send contracts as the only thing i ever sell on the market is really stuff i buy off the markett and find i have no need for anymore eg textiles, e-components etc. but my steel... jesus if i sold at 134 on the market id be losing 13.4 per steel making it not really worth my while.
Im not so sure about letting there be only one account per computer, you see whenever i go for a sleep over at a friends house or they come over to mine we often use each others computers to update our games and stuff in the morning and at night(it soudns sad but shush
). and i recently managed to get about 5people from my class to start playing kapilands full time, if this was implemented then would i be banned as soon as my friend logged on? if this rule was implemented probally yes. and don't try and say all this oh its alright once, because i also know some players who have dads and sons who play and well cmon if you ban a dad and a son only one can play, and like most games if you play on your own you get bored and tired and genrally annoyed so you give up and quit.
so thats my thoughts :/ sorry if im just repeating a load of stuff but i only read the first 4 or so posts cause im lazy
and your posts are LONG
