own expansion materials vs production profit

So I started thinking how much money I actually save by producing my own stones, wood for expansions. For every 1000m2 I need 180 000 stones and 18 000 wood. Producing those myself I save:

stones from the market at 12c around 2 million
wood at 50c around 900k ..so lets say 3 million from the market

producing myself 180 000*3 = 600k + 18 000*12 = 200k = 800k

So I save about 2.2 million every 1000m2 I expand

I need at least 6 building slots for that which means losing 3 wells, factories. 3 wells produce about 30 000 oil a day which = 150 000 gas which I sell for 32c = 4.8 million

I m actually losing about 2.6 million every day by producing stone, wood instead of buying from the market and using those building slots for production.

Am I the only one who s been getting this wrong? I thought I was saving money by producing my own expansion materials but i m clearly wrong.

So clearly once you reach the 100 building cap its smarter to have as many production buildings as possible since those make more money than u save by using the slots for mines, plantations. Right?

Yep, I calculated the same thing. However, I still produce some of my own stone as I don't sell anything from mines. (It is a bit of a lose but I don't mind.)

Most people don't relize this and lose a lot of money. But, if there wasn't people doing it the costs of those products, minus steel, would most likely cost more.

I think I might switch to production if I can get a few decent suppliers. It would suck to buy from the market since its always so unstable
