1. not all things are as profitable as others that you make
2. if you produce everything by yourself you have to research everything, which costs a lot of time and money
3. yes market can be a bi*ch but if you have friends who sell you at constant prices you dont have to worry
4. it is ok to be self sufficient but can be quite boring 8)

If you would sell the 350 water for 0,09 and the 30 corn for 4 caps, you would make 151.50 caps with that. The price for cattle is less than that, so you lose money when you make cattle and sell it for less than 150. Once again I have to say: READ THIS: http://www.forum.kapilands.com/viewtopic.php?t=4276

I am self sufficient, exept for steel, stones and wood. Those I have to buy. And I also buy some other things that I either need in a better quality than I can produce or I only need very little amount of it.

Greets.

You are never gonna be as profitable as others when you have so many products going. You have to research everything and eventually the building cap forces you choose a few products if you want to be profitable. I have 35 wells producing oil and 35 factories making gas..thats 70 buildings alone. Add the RC and gas stations a few mines, plantations for my construction materials and I have a 100 buildings. So obviously when we both have 100 buildings and i have 70 of them producing gas I m gonna make more money than your 5-10 buildings. So if you wanna become a big company in the future you should pick 1 industry and go with that. Sell a million high quality wardrobes instead of 5000 of 20 different low quality products.

Varg is very right. You better concentrate your production. For me, selling only gas would be very boring, but I also produce gas for a constant income. And some other products.

In your case...Wardrobes are a quite profitable business. And since you are in cattle and leather business... try leather jackets. Also very profitable.

edit: One more thing: If those buildings you posted are the only ones, you should keep in mind that it

I like diversity in products, I have read about rich millionaires bcoming somewhat bored with the everyday same thing, like your gas, the same product over and over and over.

I'm actually here for fun, becoming the best is not my goal.

Elwood, about leatherjackets, I am preparing for that, I had cotton being grown as it was written, I am making my first textile today, which will give me all the neccesary items.

I don't understand this mentality of people who would rather sell 3 items eperatly then combine them as 1 and have a nice finished product.

Also, yes Elwood, I know that expanding is more expensive then building, but it would be too tiresome t go through 6 planations of 20m plantations when I could do half that.

Also, I'm saving space for a new market that might catch my eye, like tires or beds. What is it called? A fringe or nook market?

Anyways, I was just curious on what other people did, mine may not be the best, but it is fun to use everything you make and make something else like a wardrobe or cattle.

I do, those people wish to make money. Why lose money selling one product when I can make more money selling the materials?

I started in fruit then bought into leather jackets and wardrobes, producing everything I needed including expansion products, and then I started looking for something else to buy into...

It's very exciting at the start because you learn about how each of the production chains works. You learn about what building makes how much of required products and how many buildings are needed to support one store etc...

The more product chains you support the more complex your company becomes and inevitably something suffers, like expansion.

So I started producing T.V.'s which are quite complex, requiring a lot of different things. It was too much for my little pc to handle. My spread sheets got too confusing to manage. I decided to focus on T.V.'s and sold my plantation holdings, never again to grow another pear or make another leather jacket or wardrobe. Sold all the researches in those lines and REALLY focused on T.V. research.

So now all I buy is wood (I buy all my wood), stone (sometimes I run a bit low and buy a little stone), steel (If the only thing I made was steel I would probably end up buying steel anyway) and last but not least PoWeR!!! (sometimes I have heaps, other times I have none)

Boredom is only an interest in something else. It's boring just making power for example. Making just T.V.'s would also be a little stale. Producing the whole chain and then selling T.V.'s in my own stores is profitable and exciting. I play kapiland for the joy of watching my company grow.

I'm starting to wonder about the future of my research centers though... What will I do with them after I have completed (maybe next year) all the research?

Completed? There is an upper limit to research? Is this something i've missed in the FAQ? or is it just info gleaned from the German version?

Maximum research is 127.

But Smell, your TV research is 19 now. It will take a few more years to reach 127.
