Newb of the newbs

Post by Guest » 02.09.2007, 09:21

Hi :).
I am newb.
I am for sure feeling like newb.
But i wanted to share information with other newbs.
When i started playing this game, i was trying to search topic like this, topic what i am trying to make now. I am talking about "what product makes biger income, if you make your own materials?".
Maybe no one will need this, maybe someone, like me in start, will like this :).
Only material what i buy for production, is water, so i ll make a constant, that i am buying water for 0.09.

Now i am starting my table, what costs what, if you make your self.
Power- 0.01

Hi

i think quantities is important too. Let's say you build 2 buildings:
A: Power Plant 20 sqm in green
B: Mine 20 sqm in green

Building A
Produce 256.633,66 power per 24 h
Unit cost 0.01, sell price 0.08, profit 0.07
Whole 24 h production profit 17964 caps

Building B
Produce 1.710,89 coal per 24 h
Unit cost 0.82, sell price 10, profit 9.18
Whole 24 h production profit 15705 caps

You can see, power is more profitable than coal :) Real profit counts from many things like:
area, building cost, expansion cost, quantities, market price, ingredients price, quality and etc. You can't just follow one of these number, because profit counting is very complex :) But it is possible to spend some time and maximize your profit, excel can help very much :)

Don't build mines or well anywhere but yellow. Yellow regions are the only places mines and wells get a production bonus.

Mm, i build 3x100 power plants and 3x100 wells in green and they supply me 3 months with cheapest power and water. In far future then i will need some empty slots i will sell them, because for me its better buy water and power. And i do not expand them anymore. Building wells and mines only in yellow is not always a gold rule. For me, building in green was better investment :) i know, whole forum is full about this rule, but... if you do not plan expand these building to much, then it is an option.... :) i will not argue about this any more, this is unnecessary, anyone can count that is best for him :)

i need to agree a bit with take on, but how i said game is very balanced and the profit was 2k less in one day, at your example.. but if you folow this rules, you can however make more moeny then other prodcuts, for same costs of expands and building costs.. Example power against wood... i think power is allways beter :)...

sintija wrote:Hmm... lets see this from two difrent aspects. Constant is : i am newbie after resiting my account with 680k caps.

1)"elwood" is allways right. if i am planing to make money based on power. Then i make few 2 power plants at yellow, both of them are expanded, and i produce power much faster and earn a lot of money with it..

2)"take on" is right, if i am newby and need power only for my self and i need to economy money for other buildings and expands. Like:
i am newby who creates a power plant at green, witch produces 10'000 power at hour ( 2 employes ) and i make a factory at red to produce coal.
With this green power plant, without any expands, i can produce power for my coal until i expand my factory till 200 square meters... so i dont need to put in extra money for my power plant at yellow and i dont need to expand it, because main reason why i build it, is not to earn 700 caps at hour but to produce power for coal for a long time...
you realize that before giving any kind of advice you should actually have some kind of understanding on what you are talking about?
your post makes no sense at all.

Power plant gets production bonus only in red (25 %).

[quote="elwood74"]
BTW: It will be very hard to find a buyer for a well in green area. And you lose 25 % when selling it to the system.

edit:
According to TakeOn

i had one more question- does big guys like most of you, sell staff, items, materials at "npc shops" or market+contracts? In wich cases npc shops are beter, and why ?

I sell everything at the market, but I'm not really a big guy :P

NPC shops give you a solid income if you now the best price/quantity
