Whats all the crap with FAXES

What is going on with faxes I thought they were used to advertise for goods (sales/purchase) but now it seems some people have begun to use it for their own personal SOAP boxes this game is going the same way as every other game one or two people SCREW it for the rest they get a some caps behind them and think they can RUN the game .................... get a life ...................... grow up ...........................

I fought last time saying if you are willing to spend the cash to use a fax you can say what you want as long as it follows the rules. After these last couple of days I see we might need a few new rules for faxes. Maybe something like the following:

Faxes are only to be used to advertise or congratulate contest winners.

Thoughts?

The last thing we need is another mechanism that requires someone to be watching and censoring what people write in the faxes. I'd much prefer that the system folks and moderators spend their time hunting down cheaters and implementing new features.

If we were to create a rule, how is issuing a public 'Congratulations' any less annoying than the other drivel that has been coming through? I personally think those ass kissing messages are the worst ones.

Those who decide to send a fax are paying their 5 coins just like everyone else, they should be able to write whatever they want. Nowhere is it written that the faxes are only for buying and selling, that's just what the majority of the use has been since we started.

I don't have any problems with a rule that only allows buying and selling faxes. I just added the congratulate to see how people reacted.

I read funny faxes rather then daily the same advertising faxes

Faxes should be used for everything... in my opinion: the forum is not being read by all users.

There is, of course, one exemption:
people are not allowed to denunciate, insult or break the rules in any way by sending faxes.

Such faxes will be deleted without any further notice, and everybody should be aware of that!

They do say any publicity is good publicity but some publicity markets (like the fax space market) are better at publicizing than the forum.

There is competition in the publicity markets for the markets

. I'm not sure if they are all profitable enough to warrant the resources. Some valid arguments are however made in this thread.

That's the hard part about Thinking Globally and Acting Locally,,, thinking and acting should never be mixed. You can only do one at a time. I suppose that is why actor's do better if they are dumb

while they are in front of the camera anyway

I think that if people spend money on faxes they should be able to write what they want. If they write something pointless, then it won't help their company, so it's their loss.
