Here in Dallas, Texas, the weather is really hot (90 Fahrenheit), and then suddenly cools down when it rains, about 5 times a day. The rain has helped keep our temperature down, but flooding is starting to get to be a really big problem.

In fact, 6 of the counties in this area were declared National Disaster Zones....

Yeah I've been hearing quite a bit about flooding in Texas.

But just for the record, lets understand why the government calls something "National Disaster Zones." It's so local & state can dip their hands into the (near-infinitely deep) pockets of the Federal government.

Whey they say "National Disaster Zones" they don't mean "really bad places to be" - that may or may not be true. They say "National Disaster Zones" because if it was called "Accounting Loophole 1173-B" it would be a lot harder for politicians to pat themselves on the back for using it.

In fact, if you're old enough, recall the first President Bush - voted out largely for raising taxes after promising not to. Well along with that tax increase was "balanced budget" legislation forbidding new spending. Except in the case of "emergencies." So when President Clinton first came to office, in his first month everything was declared an "emergency." "Emergency investigations" and "emergency trips" and so on - allowing for spending as they wished until the budget restriction could be overturned. It's rather comical.

I'm not saying that to criticize either president. I'm just saying whenever the government speaks, you can't expect that the words were used with their common sense meanings.

I heard Clinton was the same. He promised to increase the health expenditure and increase lower income earners life style, but when the numbers came back he had to do the opposite. Maybe this is false info...

I think most politicians promise to increase spending and decrease taxes.

Anyway I just finished watching a few doco's and now I don't believe that Global Warming has anything to do with human created greenhouse gas.

It would seem that the media has pulled the wool over some of our eyes. I suppose it isn't all their fault, they are just trying to sell their product. This CO2 and greenhouse gas story is killing the development of third world countries.

It seems that the sun has a lot to do with the heat on this planet.
