yes, I don't make any of my food myself, I buy all the stuff for my grocery stores from the market and make a nice profit.
I have 5 grocery stores that never run out of things to sell.
As for the other stores, I make those myself.
Gas I make and sell myself unless I run out.
You can buy it on the market for around 12 and sell it for 17 or more.
I developed a fiendish plot to lure everyone into the textile industry, since there is such high profit there with pullovers and leather jackets. Since at the time I didn't have a store myself and was making a bunch of money selling to the market. I figured they'd all join and get bored of waiting for their products to sell and open up their own stores to sell their products themselves, which they'd eventually run out of and have to buy mine.
But I actually got bored it waiting and decided to open up my own textile store to sell my own pullovers and am making a fortune.
But now that I have I'm not sure why anyone was buying mine before, cept actual textiles themselves for cars and toys.
but to answer your question, unless you want a real long wait to make profit you'd better make your own products, cept for gas and grocery store stuff.
Or unless you have a huge store, upgraded many times full of ads, then I guess it wouldn't really matter.
Oh and the drug store too, sometimes you can find toothpaste for 20 and sell for 25-30 but I can make it so fast I probably gonna have to build another store just to keep up with my factories.
But mainly the market is good for component material to make other products and if you stores run out of goods you make yourself.
never tried selling jewelry, furniture or toys, so couldn't tell ya bout those.
And tires sometimes too if they are below 200 but I can make them so fast myself now it's hardly worth the bother.
That's about all I buy from the market,
Wool >5
Milk >2
Fruit >3
Tires >200
Toothpaste >22ish
Gas >13ish
but prices are better when it is cold or raining out when more people are online, like in the winter and fall.
If I make something like rubber, engines, silicon, corn, seeds, etc, etc, etc,
I'll check the market to see if I can buy it at or around the same price that I can make it for.
You'd be surprised to find that you can buy somethings cheaper than you can make it for or about the same where you might as well just buy it off the market even if it is a little bit more expensive, it will save you time and give your production facilities something else to work on.
Like seeds for example, I can make them for 0.03
buying in market, selling in grocery
