buying in market, selling in grocery
would anyone recommend buying stuff to in the market, then selling them in the grocery or whatever building? Has anyone ever done this before? have they made a lot of money?
Yeah retail buildings you can always make profit on by setting the price higher. But it may not be a good profit if it takes too long. You'll want to compare products and really figure out which are doing the best per-minute or per-day rate. I happen to have a guide that may help.
Fortunately, the Grocery store has a huge array of products to choose from, so you should be able to find something worth selling.
However beware that you'll be unlikely to find a good supply of high-quality stuff at good prices on the market. Getting a steady increase in quality will probably mean either making it yourself, or establishing a steady contract with a supplier.

I very often run out of money and in those situations my small gas station is a blessing. I usualy don't remember to collect money until I get below 500c. Then I just collect money from my gas station and I have 20k for production. It doesn't make that much profit but it's a great thing for emergencies.

exactly this is what i think a gas station or grochery store is for i dont think you couls make a big profit at first but mably if you had 60 (or 100) buildings at 100m2 then you propably make some money

if theres one thing ive learned so far is that the best moneymaking buildings are stores, not production buildings, and i suspect the gap of profit will keep increasing as i raise in levels.

Not always. Depends on the prices.Drummore wrote:if theres one thing ive learned so far is that the best moneymaking buildings are stores, not production buildings, and i suspect the gap of profit will keep increasing as i raise in levels.
I'll give few examples
a) many people make a product, not many sell it. This is a perfect situation for those who sell. They get a cheap product and are able to sell it expensive as there isn't much competition in quality lvl.
b) few people make a product, many sell it. This is a perfect situation for those who make their products. Prices get high. High quality is needed but people will still buy q0.
c) about the same supply and demand. Usualy things end up like this. If production is more profitable than selling, more people start producing it. If selling is more profitable people build stores..
Usualy those who sell have better situation. Why? Because on marketplace people outbid themselves for the lower price. If the minimum price is 100c there will always be someone who will sell for 99,99c, and then someone will go even lower. In case of small amounts it's ok. The product disappears quickly. When people throw a larger amount like this they lower the market price. In result when they make more of their product they will have to sell it cheaper than before because they have lowered the market price. The price go down untill there is a breakthrough. Some larger company decides to buy those cheap products for their own use. The prices go up very fast and then slowly go down
Those who make products could set a price where they make the exact same profit as those who sell them. But when that happens prices go down.
Mostly it's better to sell yourself than make but you need proper funds to do so.
If a business line is good, you should be able to make a profit in any part of it. Raw goods, manufacturer, retailer, all fine. Which is better will swing from time to time as more people enter in or exit out.
More sellers than buyers (wine)? Better profit in retail, while it lasts at least.
More buyers than sellers (leather jackets)? I do believe the better profit is in manufacturing.

Put
before the text you want, and
after. What you probably did was quote everything Drummore said, then delete full text with the opening tag, then paste the copied text again and put a second closer.
Once you get the hang of BB codes it's not too tough. I sometimes catch myself writing bolded text or such when writing in Word or an email.
