Building Upgrade or New Building?

Post by Guest » 09.06.2007, 14:11

My brain is uber confused.

I can't figure out how to work the best time to build a new building rather than keep expanding current one.

I have a 90m2 Fruit Plantation.

I want a total of 200m2.

To upgrade just the one I have it will cost: 1,064,250
To buy a new plantation, upgrade it by 80m2. And upgrade existing by 10m2 - it will cost: 960,750

I will also get an extra 466 Oranges/24 hours from the 2nd option.

I just don't see how big I should make my buildings until it is just cheaper to buy a new building and upgrade that. Anyone care to explain?

Thanks,

The general consensus is that you should build new buildings instead of expanding until you reach your limit of 60 buildings (100 if you upgrade). Not only is there a slight benefit in terms of production, 2 20m buildings produce a little more than 1 40m building does. But, you also have lower costs in terms of resources to build a new 20m building. That is a big expense, and shouldn't be ignored.

so I have pretty much been wasting at the fact I have upgraded my buildings rather than building the same ones over and over heh. :(

i feel abused.

also you don't have to stop your production for the time of expansion and that is very important, especially in the beginning
