Everyone can buy, but only levels Manager and above can sell to other players. So the question to spice is whether to sell back to they system or not. Mimii you might try watching, or putting a listing in, the building trade forum. I don't believe there are any fruit plantations available at the moment but eventually who knows.
Spice, I'm not going to specifically tell you what to do, though others are welcome to if they like. I think a lot of the game is figuring out what to do, and once I tell you precisely what to do I've stolen the experience from you. I'm more than happy to help you make your own decision though.
Don't sell your buildings unless you know what you plan to do with the money. Nothing's worse than selling a building only to soon realize you want to rebuild it. So first figure out what business you want to be in. There are tips around, and this was Capitalis' post that he mentioned above.
You can get familiar with www.kapitools.de - a site that can tell you how much a building costs, how much it produces per day, and some other good stats. Then it's just a little math to figure out how much profit that can make you, by looking at the market for what sells.
For example, you have a Plantation you said.
That can make 21,386 seeds a day. Which will cost 0.10

I have 2 fruit plantations that I like to keep and expand. I got my quality to Q4 for pears and did a bit of research on the other fruits as well.i havn't used my fruit plantation ever
There is only one good reason for my keeping them.....
Kapitimes competitions. There have been two competitions now that asked for lemons and apples. I didn't sell many lemons because I was new to the game, but apples.... I think I was selling them for 25 caps for most of the 2 week competition. Now if you don't have 60 buildings yet you don't need to sell any buildings.
You can make a huge profit in the fruit competition, if there is another fruit competition, which I am praying for. It might not be for a while (say a month or two) but if you look at the amount of money you get from the building and the money you can make from the building during fruit competitions, I say you should let it sit idle.
Kapitimes competitions are the best way to go for new players. If you have the right buildings you can make 500,000 caps a day. That figure might not be right for fruit but you get the picture. What do you get for selling a 20ms fruit plantation? About 50k-60k caps? That is chicken feed.
As usual I could be wrong. It takes 2 X 20ms fruit plantations to keep a 1 X 20ms grocery selling, but you have to expand them all to get to sell fruit while you sleep. I say buy another fruit plantation and get a grocery if you don't have one and use the modest turnover to buy basic plantations.
Sell them all when you reach either manager or the 60 building limit.
END ON RANT

At your stage in the game, nothing is worse than unused capital.
Don't let your plantation sit idle. Do the math and find out what would be the most profitable thing to produce. If you like the profits, then make that and sell it on the market for a while. That way you'll have it for the next fruit contest. If not, sell it now and buy something useful!
Also I would recommend selling most of your starter steel. That is a huge amount of capital just sitting around, idle. You can get about 2-4 more buildings and get a jump start on what you'd like to go into.
