WHICH Syndicates are Controlling the MARKET?name and REASONS

Ok, now the power prices are crazy. 0,15 made me build 3 power plants.
I'm glad that I always keep one day supply in my warehouse.
There are 2 possible solutions for those prices:
- the supply will stay as it is, and so will the demand, making power prices go up and up, untill they stop at 0,25-0,26
- people will start building lots of power plants which will hopefully cover the demand and the prices will go down.

just like what is happening with wood, the market will selfregulate the price based on supply/demand, like it should.ganman wrote:Whats mostlikly going to happen is, when the price gets to high everyone build power plants and people stop buying and the price goes down
the only problem i can see is if its some cheater using noob accounts to buy all stock and artificially push the price up, but i guess the mods are on top of who is buying all the power and will act swftly.
the thing about all the orders being eaten up from 0.09 to 0.20 is pretty easy to explain, if you check the quantities of power selling in between those prices you will see that its a very low amount of power to what usually was selling in the 0.07-0.09
im all for a power price uppage, even if im on the wrong end of the stick, just had to buy at 0.09 to keep my plantations running, bllody wood craze is another pushing factor for power demand.
What!? That's crazy talk!Drummore wrote:the market will selfregulate the price based on supply/demand, like it should.

I think your assessment is right on. Someone realized at the last minute that they didn't have enough power to start their production. They went to the market and had to buy enough to get moving at any price possible. As soon as they were full however, the urgency was gone so the price was able to settle back down.
Ok I will at this point posit a (hopefully) less than newb position. What has been said in this post?
1. Wood prices are dropping.
2. Power prices are rising.
3. cotton (specifically) and other plantation goods are fairly stable and require no power.
4. There is this thing called supply and demand that affects both the prices of wood and power.
Question: Why are you still making wood?
Conclusion: Do I have to draw a picture? (Yes I know that was another question I was being fasceitous).
P.S. Power prices are not that high if you have a job that makes you wake up really early when everyone who could not sell their power puts it on the market. Good night I have to wake up really really early for work tomorrow.

This does illustrate that supply and demand for power are very close. A single large player changing production around can cause a crash or a boom. I think the price of power should be a little higher - probably .08 to make it competitive with other products a new player can produce. Still, I think rises in power price hurts smaller players more then large ones. I am going to make a point o keep a larger reserve,

2) why make wood cause its the second most profitable building required thing. And there still some handsome profits to be made. And they might not be that high any where in the world depending on were the supplyer lives.
.27 for power!
I plugged .27 into my spreadsheet and all my profit per day calculations went crazy! I'm glad the NPC is there, even though I shudder at the thought of buying from her.
Well, I really am not in a position at the moment to pay that much for power, (16 electronics factories) so I broke down and built 5 power plants. Selling power seems pretty good right about now!
