Fruit is sold in groceries to the NPC, other players don't have a use for it (other than selling in their own Grocery stores). There is a very big demand with not much competition, but then there may be a reason for that.
Before you make cattle, I'm begging you to read this post. (It's a sticky in the Beginner Help forum if you ever want to look it up again).
If you have a Grocery, you might try buying other peoples' fruits and selling them, then seeing if you like the product. Try a bunch of different products and find out which ones sell better for you. Then if you find something good, decide if it's worth making your own to get the other half of the profits. And that way if you end up finding that they don't sell as well as you'd hoped, it's not like you build a whole bunch of stuff already.

I would say that it's a good way to start.
I think a lot of people started out with seeds, fruits, plants and/or cattle.
I know I did, and I still produce some of each.
Let me know what and how much you produce and I could buy it from you for a reasonable price.
just remember, to start off with, contrary to what some people think, it's cheaper and slightly quicker overall to build new buildings than to expand.
obviously premium account users get a few more bigger and better things to play with (more buildings etc.)
have fun and enjoy the game, and don't worry if you feel you're not getting anywhere, it can take a while to settle in.

my advice is for you to restart, and dont go anywhere near the fruit business.mimii wrote: I havent posted much, but Im learning a lot from just reading what people have said previously
theres a couple of comparisons on profitability around the foruns and everytime you see them, the worst profits comes from fruits and fruit plantations.
I would say fruit beats the pants off of most manufactured foods (candy, cocoa & coffee powder, beverages, sugar, flour). Direct to customer pretty much all the fruit are what I would call "decent."Drummore wrote:theres a couple of comparisons on profitability around the foruns and everytime you see them, the worst profits comes from fruits and fruit plantations.
Not great, and I could list many products better than them. But also many worse.
