What happens if I make a premium account, get over 60 buildings and then the account expires?

Then your newest 40 buildings are closed....
They still exist but you can't use them.

He can still use the first 60 buildings but the 61st is locked.

Well, that's not not detailed enough...

If you are a non-premium player and have got 60 buildings before you get a premium player all of those buildings are non-premium ones.
All of the other 40 new buildings will then be build on a premium-slot. Thus they are premium buildings.

Now it can happen that you are a premium player and sell some of your buildings. Then you have got a free slot again, right?
And if you now build a new building on this free slot (even if it was a non-premium building that was build on an old non-premium slot before) the new building on this slot will be a premium building.

So every building build in the time of you being a premium-player will be a premium-building then.
If your premium-account expires all of those premium buildings (meaning buildings build during premium time) will be closed (but they still exist).

If you renew your premium account you will be able to use all of your buildings again.

If that happens (you have locked premium buildings), can you still sell them off to other players? If so, for the buyers, will they be premium of not?

(I understood selling/ buying buildings is not possible until at least Manager level).

You cannot sell locked premium buildings; you cannot even enter them, so there is no possibility to do anything with them until you*re again a premium member.

And you are right: buildings can be sold from the lvl Manager onwards

Once you get a premium account, does the expiration date appear somewhere in my menus to keep me up to date on when the time runs out and I'll need to spend coins to add more time?

Yes, it appears then on the left side at the bottom.

So you can always see when your premium account expires.
