Couple of newbie questions

Post by Guest » 06.05.2007, 18:36

Hi, I'm playing for two days and already restarted several times following different product lines (oil, textiles, steel) and learning from my mistakes but still have a couple of doubts:

- When I expand a building, is it inactive until the expansion is finished or it continues producing?

- The only advantage of the contracts is that I don't have to pay the 10% fee?

Any other advice will be welcomed :D

Question 1- when you expand you cant produce. when your producing you cant expand.

Question 2- Yes that is correct.

Question 3-Do you like river or boca.

Thanks for the answers!

Now I've got 4 mines and I'm producing/selling raw materials but there are people offering the same products at a very low price so I will wait until the prices get a bit higher.

@adi2412: Boca and River are argentinian football clubs and I'm of Boca, of course 8)

Expanding, in the beginning, is cheaper.

Your steel is free, your stones are free, your wood is free.

After that, its more expensive to expand unless you produce your own steel and coal to make such steel.

However, less buildings that are built higher mean less time needed to play, removing some of the tedium experienced each day.

Better not using those materials to expand, if you don't use them for building new constructions, better sell it to other players

and also it takes less materials to expand when you are on low level

new constructions
Buying new buildings is expanding. I agree that the context was gray.
The point is that building new buildings early uses less steal which you have a fair amount of at the start.

and one more advantage of contract is that, if u put ur products in the market...and they arent bought for a while,i.e, they r stuck...so u can only do 2 things -
i. wait for it to be sold....fo a long time(which means its stuck in the market)
ii. buy it urself...

but while if u send sum1 products thru contracts...even if the person doesnt buy them....or they havent made any decision(sign or cancel), u can always cancel the contracts urself...

Why?

It takes steel, stone, and wood to build, in addition to cash.

The steel you have, is very expensive. If you sell it, you'll have to buy it back in order to expand. You're better off keeping it, not selling it.

Because you will be needing it very very soon.
