Please Considered about new players or small players!!!aljooge wrote:I think that whatever it will be, it needs more production facilities involved. What makes the contest more fun is higher qualities. For instance this CPU contest was Q4 and could easily produced by setting CPU just on Q16 and silicon Q0. high Qs, >6 makes the contest more fun, because then you really need to buy/produce higher quality silicon to make these CPUs.

Re: POLL: KapiTimes Contest: Choose the contest industry!
The example about CPU >6 makes sense, that you need higher quality resources. It is easily to make it to a high quality, just by buying higher quality resources like plastic and silicon. There are lots of these for sale at market. Even starting companies can produce CPUs >6 with just a CPU research of Q0. And that buying from market regarding to resources creates more fun.r3d1t4 wrote:AGREE with u...people above you is only thin about them self...if all people think about them self, this game is for sure gonna die since no new players and lots of small player quit playing this game as they don't have enough money and gets bored...biggrig wrote:I dont agree with you. Contest helps new player that dont have high quality researces.
NEW PLAYERS DO NOT NEED HIGH QUALITY RESEARCHES!
By the way: I am not thinking about myself, and I am not egocentric. At the moment I am the only one in Realm2 buying water/power/steel and wood for NPC prices from newbees. Hopefully r3d1t4/biggrig and many others will do the same.
Re: POLL: KapiTimes Contest: Choose the contest industry!
for me,,it would be better if new players can produce contest products without buying the resourches from the markets as they can try to research it by them self,..that would be much better for them and can encourage them to always try to produce contest products and gain some money on that..aljooge wrote:The example about CPU >6 makes sense, that you need higher quality resources. Looks like the Car Factory won this one!
Low quality contests can help small players, but they shouldn't depend on that for their money making.
Low and high qualities will all show up along the way.
I don't think anyone will quit from 1 or 2 "high" quality contests a year.

Oh so I see the next contests is going to be for big boys only... Well, hope that soon appears a plantation contest!!
Re: POLL: KapiTimes Contest: Choose the contest industry!
I didn't say anything about the quality of the upcoming contest product.
I also have a very small announcement:
Please note that KapiTimes Issue 139 will get released a little bit later than usual.
The release will be on sunday evening, rather than sunday afternoon.

Re: POLL: KapiTimes Contest: Choose the contest industry!
I knew it was going to be tires from car factory
But, tires have already been a contest, hwhile (cool hwhip) some other products have not yet been
Anyway, i missed the voting, but i am fascinated by the fact someone voted for chems factory
That should be a contest somewhere soon

Re: POLL: KapiTimes Contest: Choose the contest industry!
The options that didn't win will probably appear soon enough, in some random order though.

Re: POLL: KapiTimes Contest: Choose the contest industry!
There was a plantation contest just over a month ago so only 2/3 contests previous. This contest does use plantation products though although prices haven't really risen.

Re: POLL: KapiTimes Contest: Choose the contest industry!
Pigs was last in contest November 2009 (when I started).
Cattle hasn't been around since February 2008!!
There are several products that have been more frequent. Lambs for example. Both oct-nov 2010 and nov-dec 2011.
Shake it up, please.

Just the fact that you don't know when the next item comes up is fun. Sure, some products will fall twice in a short time but you even have that in the lottery as well.Andro wrote:Pigs was last in contest November 2009 (when I started).

Re: POLL: KapiTimes Contest: Choose the contest industry!
I like OBHD's lottery example, and it's true.
I started paying attention to the lottery wins of my countries' biggest lottery, the State Lottery.
A nearby town that is smaller than my city has won three times since I started paying attention to it,
While my city still hasn't won at all.
Let me rephrase what I said in the last page as well:
There's just over 100 products in the game of Kapilands, while there's only about 25 contests each year.
Knowing those numbers, it's easy to see that it can take 4 full years until every single product is picked.
And of course since some products may be picked twice in this 'lottery',
it's actually more than 4 years before every single item has been used.
It's basic math.

Not if you add a programmatical random number restriction to it.VerConMat Industries BV wrote:It's basic math.

if(itemSelected > xTimes)
{
ignoreSelection();
selectNewItem();
}
(the above is extremely simplified. don't bash me)
