Just jealous of us plantation owners... :P

Anyway, taking away the NPC would be a problem for people who want to expand their companies and have no interest in the contest...

Yep, but it has been done before on other servers.
And indeed, those who are about to expand would be in trouble for that moment.
But same goes for any other contest in which (base)materials are used that others might need outside of the contest.

Like in "The Eurovision" ... My vote goes to ... Diamonds

Why ?

The last time we used mines, was for the Contest : Silver Q4 (August 31, 2009 to September 11, 2009), it's been about nine months ago ...

Cocoa, for me, should not be considered (even if I have many plantations ^^) because plantations have been used twice recently (Seed Q8 and more recently Cotton Q4).

Iceberg.
Shouldn't you consider it in terms of the profit you would make?

I mean, if you would make (let's say) 100 mil caps daily profit from a diamonds contest but 400 mil caps daily profit from a cocoa contest, wouldn't you choose cocoa (regardless of when we had the last contests?)? :)
My choice is Diamond (so, Yes, my profits will be very low, but, everybody could have is chance for the contest, not everytime the same productions ... or the same build for make the element

Icy.

Not jealous but rather miffed at the number of contests that are food, plantation and heavily dependant on plantation products,it is in my opinion rather excessive. I would not have chosen any plantation or food related product to be put in the selection

Think of poor old Cash Money brothers, he will probably lose any cocoa suppliers. The cotton contest resulted in many textile makers who buy their cotton to have to cut production and break long term supplying deals. The contest is the only thing random in Kapilands and you seem to think that it always has to benefit you, I would be quite happy if there are no mine, food or plantation products for another 6months, would be nice for us real companys selling stuff in shops to benefit from a contest for once.

Can people please remember that contests are the only random things left in Kapilands, and this is a thread for discussion and spam was prohibited. Does anyone think that Sergiu is bordering on spam and should be banned for his excessive babbling?

well, I am going to thank Goldeneye for this "different" experience and hope he has a few more tricks up his sleeves to liven up the game occasionally

This is the usual game of demand and supply "dictating" prices - with or without contests. If you get more money for example for cocoa than normal, why should anybody produce something less profitable? Thus the prices of other goods will rise due to less supply. This is called "kapitalism" not "please think first of the poor huge facs owner before chosing a contest product".

If you had told me some weeks ago I can sell e-comps at current pricces I had called you dead optimistic. I normally am quite optimistig setting my prices, but had never thought this could ever be topped. I found out how fast things sold, when I thought I give my warehouse a clearance. I know myself what raw material prices are still profitable selling a product in the shops...

However, whatever will be contest product there is a good chance I can either produce it or have it in stock in larger or smaller amounts. The only thing I will definitely be out is mining products.

My two cents

sergiu babbles on everything i believe he and any of his followers should be limited to the amount of posts he is allowed to write as anything i look at on the forum always contains about 50 comments from him, he is boring.

oh and by the way i voted diamonds, computers would probably get more people involved

There wasn't even one contest with a plantation product at that time!

@Angermanagement: Since when is expressing your opinion the same as spamming? Maybe Sergiu isn't always on-topic ( especially in the off-topic section of the Kapi forum ), but I do not consider he is just babbling all day long. At least, not in this thread. Why are you throwing stones at him?

Back on-topic: I am currently producing chemicals and a few other mining products, so, yeah, my vote is going to be biased: the next contest product should be chemicals. :D :D

I ask you to discuss your off-topic "dis-agreements" via PM but not in this thread. Thanks a lot!

And thanks for all your responses so far! That's great! :D
Help to make the next contest your contest. ;)
