Probably because he has a cool name. I mean wouldn't you like to say, "My name is Al Gore"?

But you cited him as a smart American. Why? I mean, a lot of Aussies believe it, but I laugh when those folks in Melbourne are living in a climate that is already hot. You should see the alarming amount of Aussie and Kiwi YouTube channels where they say Global Warming is real, and if you say otherwise, you're dumb. These are adults too, not teens being smarty pants. If you are calling him smart, because he managed to scam the world long enough to get rich. Ok sure.

By the way, I am really good friends with a guy who moved over from Dublin a few years ago, with his family. Your comment reminded me of our online conversation about him calling home for Christmas, and his brother said, "What are you speaking like your retarded?" My friend asked why he said that. His brother's answer, "Ya talking slow like an American." Anyways, I thought your comments were rather callow but funny in an innocent way too.

I also have another friend from Scotland, from a place where they speak with run-on sentences. Sometimes I just smiled and nodded, hoping that was the right reaction. I was just hoping he wasn't going to come to my front door in a kilt, hair on fire, face painted, and wielding a claymore. lol

Oh look, now I am rambling.
