You know when ya focus on one thing like Power, should you build a couple of power plants?

When you're first starting out, it is usually cheaper to build new buildings instead of expanding your existing ones. Once you factor in the resources needed to build or expand that is.

Once you get to your limit of 60 buildings (or 100 if Premium), then you will have to expand your buildings if you want to keep growing.

And you also should take into consideration, that two 20sqm producing buildings produce more than one 40sqm building.

Thus you first should use all of your slots and after this you can expand your buildings.
