But it's actually a great IDEA!
If you need any help on IDEAS to make that IDEA come true feel free to PM, or IGM Inatel(R1) or International Power Company(R2)!
Well here's what I need to do first. First, I need to finish making a Trailer Factory, Heavy Equipment Factory, Tool Factory, and a Hardware Factory. Once I've posted those, then comes a factory menu for a Construction Contractor.
The CC will operate like a cross between a factory and a special building. Consuming a pre-determined amount of equipment and materials for each building type built*. The CC products will have just slightly more "ingredients" to manufacture than cars or cabriolets, but not enough to overload the player.
Building homes will be slow. The fastest to build will be of course, a manufactured home (commonly called trailer houses). While the slowest will be a skyscraper. Each building type can be added to the technical research building as well. Improving the quality of the buildings built by the player's CC.
Of course, to accommodate the CC, there will be a Real Estate Agency, with a sale rate equal to just 1 per 10m2. This way the more wealthy players can't take advantage of the system that easy.
As for the Wal Mart idea. I'll leave that for someone else to tackle or I might see what I can do.
Just remember, these are just photoshopped "what if" factories made for fun. I don't expect anyone to take these ideas too seriously, but at the same time amusing.
FYI: When I worked in a manufactured home plant for 2 years, we had a crew of 223 working on the lines. We could produce from start to finish, 5 homes a day; 25 homes a week. If you used the Kapi system, the employees reflect a factory size of 2230 m2 just to make 5 manufactured homes a day. Can you imagine how slow it will be in the beginning?

I have also seen a crew of 20 men build a two story house in a week. In other words, I am bracing you for the impact of the slow build times you will see someday.
* While I know you don't buy a whole new truck, new tools, etc for each building built, but if you look at it from a logistics point of view it might make more sense.
