There was no talk about any kind of riddle nor thing to figure out. they should do a riddle. or a word search and have the missing word be the word that the contest is about. that would be different. but this game is about building a simple company. so no tricks.
i bet it was just someone made a mistake.
If this was going to be some tricky game. they should make it more like a business simulation. with stocks and loans. and dividends and board of directors.

I played the german kapi regnum.
Over there they allways had a riddle telling what product was the contest product and i hardly ever had a clue what they were talking about.
But gosh, had they written the current riddle in german i wouldn't have had a single problem finding out what they were talking about.
If people who bought 100K units of some product without bothering to check cuz they think they just obtained CP suddenly notice it was the wrong CP i can't say i feel sorry.
If those who start producing it immediatly start a 10 day production without trying it with a 10 unit or 1 minute production first, i can't say i feel sorry either.
If 10 seconds of thinking is to difficult for people, a business simulation game probably isn't the right game for you to play anyway.
Try the banana game instead, that one works with login and refresh without having to think to much.
I see a few people who complain using valid arguments.
Like when siberian points out English isn't his native language it is difficult to blame him when there isn't a Portugese version available.
But others just show me they never bothered checking it out.
I immediatly gave it a try when i noticed i had some product and noticed it didn't work so i guessed i needed the other.
Must i feel sorry about the people who just get greedy and don't even bother using their brains for even 1 second??

I would almost suggest quitting the contests for a few months, lets see the whining if Goldeneye doesn't start a new contest after this one.
Imagine the whining we now get on saturday when the old contest is finished only few hours, but when he starts a contest the same people start whining it is to difficult, not fair, or WHATEVER...

As angry as Ronintje is here, I agree with him. Sure I argued a bit, but well, that was for sake of argument, I already knew the product.
Fact is: If other players can figure it out, then you can too. Actually if you were smart, you'd take advantage of many confused players and sell them bogus contest products, like leftover Bottled Cocoa, or q2 Apple Juice.
My point is, fine we all were surprised by this change. Most of us managed to figure it out. Couple of contests in, and we will all be used to it.
Quit whining, and adapt. You do it as a human in society, do it now.

My defence is that I was confused because I'm rather new. But it certainly doesn't take Einstein to figure out what to do about it.
But I stick to my point that I previously posted. I don't mind this kind of contest as long as there is some way of communicating with others regarding selling components rather than finished product. I'm not sure if this rule of silence (even though this thread has blown the cover several times now) apply on the sale of contest components too. Does it?

The contest is 100% about chance.
You can't predict it, so you can stockpile some goods/buildings to be prepared, but still it is a piece of chance to end up with a contest which fits your entire building strat.
If you enter a contest there is chance, you could end 1st, 10th, 50th, 101st.
So if you don't want to be bothered by chance, STAY OUT OF THE CONTEST!!!
Ergo, no reason for you to complain in here about the CP either.

We are so very lucky to have him as a Moderator in here and we should be gratefull he is willing to start contests every other week without being able to join in himself, or how much whining do you expect should he suddenly start producing CP and grab some gold medals??
Instead of a thread with whining about this contest and the time it starts and whatever there is to whine about, post a thread thanking him for his efforts to let us have fun again!!!

The contest is not up to chance! there is no chance to it. Yuo can easily research the compition and know how hard you need to work at it to win.
it is based on how good a company is and how active. if you see there is a company ahead of you in the contest you can talk to them and look at their comapny info. it not like poker where you are given cards. in the contest you can choose to build the correct buildings. you can buy form the market, you have so many options to do it different ways.
if the contest were up to chance. you would get small companies winning first every once in a while. but i haven't seen a small company under 1mil FA win the contest. so it is not up to chance one bit, fine maybe u could say that it is based on when you start the game if you also say that companies grow at the same rate. and maybe when you start the game is up to chance.
of course i was whining. would you whine if your parents told you they want you to buy milk from the store and you buy it then they tell you that they really wanted you to get cheese instead! I know i would get upset with them. and i would hope you would at least be a little disturbed. But i guess you could be a christian and or scientist and have realized that the material things don't matter. I wish i could understand that!
maybe next contest i will not whine so much becasue i will know that they sometimes trick us to make it more fun. i just wish that i would have know that they do somehting fishy with the contest. I do not like surprises. i am a math guy and like that everything has a pattern.
the contest product is the product they sayin the news paper. now that i know the contest product is the contest product they say in the news paper 50% of the time. see now i will know this and be ready for it next time. the new players i guess just have some challenges understanding this game fully. I did only buy 8 of the wrong contest product. so it did not really affect me but it it the value of it. i thought that they wouldn't trick us! that is so sad that they did

I disagree, jkeller4000. Contests ARE chance. I have won 5 medals, total, on both realms which gives me more inside knowledge.

Companies may be a 100% production company for that product.
Companies may sell 1000 coins during the contest yet buy products making it look like they never have any cash.
Companies may, and usually, hold out until the last hour to place their products into the contest. You may be winning until the last hour then find yourself in third place. (I have had that happen before.)
Bottom line, all contests are chance. You NEVER know if you will win.
