the sale price for goods will go up making it easier for newbies
Contests should pay fair prices for items

I don't think you realize the problem with this. If the Contest buying price went up the good prices will go up. This is NOT a good thing. Why? To win a contest on Realm 1 most people end up spending around 20 billion caps. (Half that for Realm 2.) If the price of goods went up companies just won't buy as many goods because they couldn't offered it. That would force smaller companies to sell the goods to the Contest making them less money than they would have before on the market.
Even for contest products there is the rule of demand and supply - whatever price will be given out by the company contest. Low supply huge demand = high price for products - huge supply no demand = low price for products.
And here comes the part for huge producers of contest goods: I have seen recently huge amounts of contests products on the market at a price (still profitable for the producer) which start me thinking *censored*. However, I am happy that I started this game when there were MANY players going for a medal (which kept prices up and made it easy for me to expand) so I now look first how the price develops and decide then what to do with millions of ice creams or beef or... Do I have to mention, that if certain players would go for a medal today they would just have to drop me a line and make sure to get a decent amount (if i can produce whatevers needed)?

Useless idea.Straw Man wrote:Instead of 1 or 2 kapis, contests should pay something like the low market price for items, as judged by an administrator. This would ensure enthusiastic participation by Score competitors and would put more money into the game.
There really isn't a benefit to this change.
If you think the price paid by the contest company isn't enough....DON'T SELL TO THE CONTEST COMPANY...
There still is a huge amount sold to the system so why change it??
You act as if contest competitors don't want to send in anymore, but i'm afraid you are the only one who has that idea.
Also, why would the system want more money in the game??
I still think to upjers the idea of a contest is to take cash out of the game rather then the opposite.
People aren't forced to sell to the contest, so what isn't fair about the current price?
[...]Straw Man wrote:That isn't as good as the contest paying a fair price, which would take the gamble out of producing a lot of contest product.euanmead12 wrote:well what about paying half the price.
Every product you produce can be considered a gamble.
If you don't want to be stuck with contest product...DON'T PRODUCE IT!!!!
