Here is enough space for all players to ask questions about the game.

What goods are profitable for retailing.

What type of goods are profitable to buy off players/the market and then sell in a store?

I think I read that Gas can be profitable to buy and then sell in a Gas Station, are there other products that can make a profit this way?

(even if it's only a slight profit :P)

coins aren't goods, he meant products that you make.

Jewelers, furniture stores, textile stores and a few more can show a profit.
How much profit depends on the size of youre stores and the price you have to pay for the merchandise.

I would imagine most of the bigger players have the majority of their slots filled with stores and factories so there must be profit to be made.

Yeah, I meant actual Kapilands products, so coins are out.
I can't sell those in retail stores either :P

I'm not even looking for a huge profit as this will be a smaller 'side project' next to my main production line.
I'm not looking to produce, but I want to be pure retail on this 'side project'.

I don't have any stores right now, and I want to change that. :P

I like those numbers, jas2000.
Gas seems like a good idea. :)

I think I'll have a go at Gas for now. :)

Kapitools confuses me with the store size thingy, so I'll ask it here.
When selling at a reasonable price, how many gas can I sell per hour? :P
I'll be working with 20m

This is how I calculate that:

If you have a 20 m2 store you will be able to fill your store with 1000 gas units.

I find that if you calculate each gas unit as being worth 25 +1Q and then add another 16 to 17 caps to the figure it will be all sold in around 24 hours.

So,that makes around 41.6 gas sold per hour if I am not mistaken.

Gas Q0 would be 25 + 17= 42 caps sellingprice,
42 x 1000=42000 caps in 24 hours.

42000/24=1750 caps turnover an hour.
Profit =708,3 an hour.
Roughly.

When your store is full your price should sell out in:
Textile Stores: 5 to 7 days
Gas Stations: 18 to 24 hours
Furiture Stores: 48 hours (2 days)
Car Dealers: 10 days (currect me if I am wrong as it may be more.)
Jeweleries: 7 to 10 days

My main business on Realm 1 is Pullovers. However, my side business in Jewelery retailing. When the supply is there profits are great. But the supply isn't always easy to maintain. Gas would probably be a much better deal for you as supply is easy to get and your extra income would be steady.

Azer, I always sell my gas the way you say: full shop in around 24 hours.
But would you please take a look at this link? http://www.forum.kapilands.com/viewtopic.php?t=19957

And tell me what you think about it.

You guys helped a lot. :)

Thanks.

One very important part of those calculations is the fact that you need to be fully advertised, though :P

It would take like 108 hours for 1000 gas to sell at 42

Interesting thread this

I have a question for Greed....

I use Knoll's (spelling) formula for finding optimum selling price. How does time affect this ?

If it's simply a question of getting the most from your store. Then once the optimum price is found would it not be best to max your store ?

And another store related question
If you load your store for a week and leave it a week till all is sold, are the goods in the store affected by daily sup/dem, avg price, avg Q fluctuations ?

I don't think they are affected by daily fluctuations. It is only when you put it in that i think any of that counts. As i have not seen any change in my sales anyways. But i am not really an expert at this either.
