Default postings

No matter how I try, I can't make the most recent postings the permanent default. It makes no sense to list dialogs from four years ago first when pulling up a topic. But I can't figure out how to make the most recent my default. It is annoying to have to reset every thread as I enter. What am I missing? :?

Yep. That is my point.

You can't keep the most recent postings as a default. And I really don't care about three-year-old questions and comments. I want only the current dialog.

Hmmpf, sorry, no can do... there is no function that would allow me to do so.

Guess we'll have to wait until all forums are merged, in which case we'll get the latest forum software - and this problem will be solved then. :)

Cheers,

Hmppf is my way of saying "You got me beaten there, I have no way of solving this right now". ;-) We're planning on merging all forums (though there is no fixed date for this yet), and when that happens we'll add the latest forum software - which means you'll be able to sort the forum better, then.

Best regards,

pearlbay

OK, I have been patient. You have converted all the forums. I have decided to live with the ugliness. I will live with the ads. But...

Can't you please figure out how to list these threads by descending time?
It just makes no sense to start the page with 400 posts beginning in 2007! It just doesn't.
It doesn't.
Does not.
At all.
Never will.
Not.
NO. :x

Hi Brent,

I think I figured that out:
Select main menu "User Control Panel"
Open Tab "Board Preferences"
Select side Menu: "Edit display options"
Set "Display post order direction" to "Descending"

However, beware what you wish for. Now the first post in the thread is something like:

 up

and you have to scroll all the way down to see what is being offered...
