New Kapi-GFX

Post by Guest » Tue Aug 02, 2011 4:18 pm

for those of you who dont read the 'readme' file:

b) Log into Kapi Regnum and go to your profile.
Enter your path into the line "graphics pack" and add a "file:///" at the beginning.
Example: "file:///C:/regnum-gfx/"
Please make sure to turn the back slashes \ to slashes /.

*I thought the update was failing - because an "accepted update" to your file location used to display visibly on your profile page ;
when you went to "profile" your GFX location appeared in the browser window:

(1) The update I entered must be working because I see the product icons under all windows

(2) after entering the file location - the display returns to a blank line ;
this may cause some people to think their GFX file-location entry failed.

You will now have to confirm all changes with your password - unfortunately this feature didn't work correctly yet. Can you please try again, now? The path should now be saved!

after updating GFX, the Firefox screen became misformatted.
Firefox version 5.0

Aug 02 , Wed 10:50 a.m. - formatting issues appear to be working correctly at this time. Browser window looks "normal" again.

Ok, I seemed to have solved that problem. Now, if I could just stay on in Explorer, I would be kinda happy.

Of course, now the page is much bigger than my screen. :? Any ideas on how to fix that?

Page size

you can change the apparent size of the page by zooming in or out.

Highlight any section of text (as if you were going to copy it)

then hold down the control key and use the mouse wheel to zoom

in or out as you wish.

That is not a reasonable solution. I just end up with illegible dinky little text. That is not what I had before.

Also, I did not solve my graphix problem after all. I just turned it off.

compatability

Post by Guest » Thu Aug 04, 2011 9:56 am

I tested logging in with the new GFX on Firefox 5.0 and MS Explorer 8.0.

Both browsers render the page correctly at this time.

When I logged into Kapi on Explorer, I had to enable compatability view before the page rendered correctly.

You may wish to verify under the "view" tab, that your text size in Explorer is set to the default "medium" text size,
if invoking the "compatability" function does not resolve the appearance issue for you.

You may also wish to consider downloading and installing Mozilla Firefox - and logging into Kapi
(remember to enter the permission entries for Kapi into your Firefox permissions script) to see if
the same screen distortion appears when accessing the web page using a different browser.

If the same distortion appears under both browsers then it is most likely a hardware setting or screen resolution issue
rather than a browser conflict.
