How do I gain a reputation and what does it mean?
You will gain reputation by

* erecting special buildings (e.g. hospital, throne room)
* solving tasks in special buildings
* possessing status symbols.

Your reputation is shown by different ranks, the symbols next to your cities name have different meanings. You will learn what they mean later on.
Note: Special Buildings can be build as soon as you reach the rank Huckster.

But I don't see any! Is there something special I need to do b4 it shows up?

Dear Kind Sir,

According to the Ranks subsection of the Help Section comes the following statement:

Sir 8.000.000 ¢τ
Your townsfolk is giving you a new parish hall!
At last you may build new buildings! Special buildings are just waiting to be discovered by you!

Until you reach the rank of "SIR" which is 8,000,000¢τ in total assets, you will be unable to build special buildings.
