Hi every one, I don't know were this should go, I have a fruit plantation, and am thinking of getting a grocery store, so I can sell all my fruit, what I would like to ask first, would it be worth it, would you do it, second, will I have people coming into the shop to buy fruit.

I actually bought a grocery again, to sell beef.
If I try bananas, I sell 51870 Q12 bananas for 40 caps each in 367 hours, which makes 135681 caps a day, (24 hours) and this is NOT even profit, so I would say it is not very profitable with fruits at all.
If I try beef I sell 44696 Q10 beef for 60 caps in 32 hours which makes around 2 million a day, again this is not profit but total.
You have to calculate productioncost but still this figure looks more attractive to me, although not great.
So, not fruits but beef if you want to try a grocery.
I must ad, I did not calculate the best price yet to sell those beef and fruits, I just put in one test figure for each to get a rough idea how they sell.
And yes, people will come in your shop and buy your fruits, (virtual people that is
) , the demand for fruit is much higher then the supply (see stats ingame demand/supply) so thats not the problem.
Also, take a look at the stats ingame Prices/Quality in the different countries, you can see there that bananas sell around 10 caps average for Q3 in Germany.
Beef sells for around 40,50 for Q4.
I would not recommend it to a smaller company to buy a grocery if your goal is to grow fast, then you better concentrate on the stuff you already read in other posts, you know, stones,wood, blablabla..
But if you are curious, want to try things out for yourself and don't mind the small profit then go for it.
Only catch is, if you decide you don't want to have a grocery anymore you will not be able to sell your building to another player until you reach manager level.
So you must keep it until then or sell it to the system, which means you don't get much caps for it.
If you xpanded it then that is a loss of caps.
@Lman360: beverages are even worse to sell.

Wow a Large Scale who has never had a store! Food is not a great option but for many it works ok =)
Ill answer the second one first: No you wont have to deal will people in your store, simply imput the amount of fruit you wish to sell and then the price for each and it will begin to sell. You can reset/change price anytime with only very small shiping costs. Come back the next day and recive the profits.

In short any store is better than selling your product to another player with the possiable exception of rumble race type products. More money and garrenteed sales.
As lman said food is a poor selling item so you need to be bigger and better to make the same profit as other items can, me personaly I wouldent touch food of any type and just stick with electronics and jewels
4 questions I ask myself when building a store:
1 Can I make enough per meter to make it worthwhile as oposed to gas ect ect...
2 Would it be better to use the space to build a factory/mine/plantation/.../...
3 Will I have to buy the items I consume or can I produce myself for max profits
4 If I do produce can I make sufficent Q to sell fast and high, Q1 apple Rc isent going to get you very far so try and boost that somewhat as even a few extra Q can be very helpfull. If you have any problems give me a yell

From what I see you have more than enough cash to kick start a very advanced production-store chain. Unfortunatly the more profit in an item the higher Q you seem to need. Like making Q0 wardrobes is just pointless as to get a good sales speed you need to sell below cost or it takes 3 days to sell anything. My advice is get your hands on a good RC that can research everything from the bottom up or buy the researches straight. While your researching build some stores and everything you need to stock them then expand them all to a good size (250-500 to begin) Once you finnish this you should have a good RC level so begin! Once (or if) you have decided what area you want to go into post here and we can give you a few tips because every market is different.
