A bit of help for a Noobie!
Hey guys I have been reading this forum since I started playing this game a few days go and all the more established players seem really helpful when it comes to giving advice to us new players which is great!
I have been reading alot of your advice and have decided to start selling Gas in Gas Stations to get a bit of cash to start off with as it seems to be one of the best ways to do so.
I have bought a couple of gas stations in Saudi and 5000 litres of Gas. However I was really surprised to see how long it takes to sell in the station. I am trying to sell 1000 litres of Gas at $30 and it is telling me it will take 74h to sell all the Gas (I have a 20m2 station with 2 employees)
This seems like a very long time to me to make sales of just 30K. Is there something I am doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the game
Your problem is a classic mistake made by new players. The good news is that its easily fixable and you can roughly halve your sales time but the bad news is that its going to cost you around 1m per store.
Each store takes 40k of advertising points to sell at max efficiency, to advertise you need to go to the advertisements areas of the market and buy as much as you can afford. Go into the gas station menu and click on the advertise icon and the rest is self explanatory.
If you still have huge sales time drop your price or buy higher Q gas. Its a very tight thing money wise if you want to sell gas but if you persevere its a profitable industry.

yup its ryt u shudnt put adverts in the start and another piece of advise- dont sell gas in the stores ryt now... i suggest after u can afford gettin a 500m sq gas station only then shud u hit the stores... its not any use till then.... also at that stage u can afford to max out the ads..... ryt now i suggest u sell gas to players and dont produce all the products like power and everythin... if u want u can either produce only gas or oil and gas both.... i only produce gas and sell it out....

There is your problem. Stores need to be in the RED zones. (Turkey, France or Germany) Yellow zones don't have the income to pay a high price for gas.johng83 wrote:I have bought a couple of gas stations in Saudi
With market prices as they are currently in R2...
You can definatly skip buying a powerplant.... buying in @0.09 or 0.1 is fine
You can afford currently to just buy your oil My in house price is 48 whilst buying in is around 68 currently which is only +4/unit on your gas production price which means you are still producing for 18 - 20
I disagree about not having gas stations. In Red if it is anything like R1 you can shift a 1000 rack over 24 hour @ aprox 33.... thats without upgrading. Also it doesn't fluctuate as much as the market does, so it can be counted on rather than someone undercutting you by 0.01 with a few 100k units and you having to wait half a day or longer to sell your gas. Not to mention that if you are selling to market rather than finding contracts then you have 10% sale charge.... and a starter doesn't usualy have the volume that someone is looking for with a contract!
You can soon afford to upgrade to 40m2 which makes your profit potential much greater. Do the initial upgrades in small steps and increase your production capacity in the meantime and you'll soon have enough profit comming in to max the adverts.

I agree partially with adi2412.
No use selling your gas in stores without ads and in small stores.
You just sell the gas to players now and start expanding your gasstation little by little, and research your gas,( or/and have enough cash to buy from other players who sell good quality) and by the time your stores are bigger (at least 2000m2)you should be able to make good profit.

I'm thinking sally mayhaps has forgot what it is like down here when ya just start?
With one well and one factory you are only going to manage about 2000 gas production/day. With just one shop expanded to 40m2 you can cover that in 24 hours at a better profit than you can sell on the market.... plus it is stable income, you are not going to have your cashflow wrecked by someone undercutting you with a large sale and your goods waiting for a day or three before being bought.
Case in point I have a batch of gas that has been on market for 36 hours... when I put it up the lowest was 28... I put mine at 27, within minutes someone had put 300k units on at 26 and others lower followed... if I had not had other avenues of cashflow I'd have been stuck waiting.... or had to eat the loss of the sales 10% and relisted it lower.... only to take another risk of it happening again.
Sell excess production as you grow by all means, but that one small shop can make a big difference down here when production is this low.

Might be a spoiler here, I think, too, even small income is better than no income at all, BUT (here it comes) I would rather spend the transport costs and place the shop where I can get more money out the NPCs (which is still RED)...Ravenstar Corp wrote:Sell excess production as you grow by all means, but that one small shop can make a big difference down here when production is this low.
And unless you have not spent too much time playing or put real money in it, it doesn't really hurt to reset the account and leave out the mistakes you made before...
