Advanced production calculator

Post by Guest » 29.01.2009, 14:22

Hello!

I'm new in this game, and currently I'm trying to choose my direction. I have 2 choices: Toys and Furniture.
I want to compare all statistics to build only necessary buildings, I want to compare profit in both areas, in different countries. How can I do this? Is there an automatic tool for calculation all necessary values?

For example, I have these questions:
1. How many power and water (in total) should I have to produce 1 Toy?
Because we need water and power for steel and plastic and their components too.
2. Is it more profitable to build power plants for my toys production, or just buy the power on the market?
3. What is the optimal list of buildings (and their size correlation) for toys production? F.i. 100m2 Toy store + 400m2 Toy factory + 50m2 Chemical RC

And many-many-many other similar questions about every toy or furniture product and their components. It's a crazy thing to calculate everything in Excel....

I know about this site, but it doesn't have all calculations in English (I don't know German).

It does have them in english. You just need to select the english flag links rather than the german links. ;)

Thanks for the hint, but not all of them are translated.

btw dont make your own power, plastic or anything just focus on the main product egs toys or wardrobes or watever... it aint profitable to make everything yourself you know..

Hmm, why is not this profitable?
My current aim is opposite - start from making raw materials and then moving higher ( power -> water -> mine products -> chemical products -> ...), so I'm going to make buildings for producing all necessary goods, so I don't need in anybody. Why is it so bad?

Your forgetting to pay your products. Just because you can make power for 0.03 doesn't mean it is worth only 0.03 it is worth 0.25. (Every productis worth the MARKET value NOT your production costs.) Now that you are paying your products take into effect the profits you are closing by having buildings that give you very little profit. Those building slots could have another building which makes you more money.

That's true, but when you need raw materials of high quality it is best to be self independent, cause you can risk to loose your supplier (it happened to me with chemicals of high quality).

It's true, but should be corrected a bit: every building pays for itself.
So, I build a Power Plant for 100 000 caps (I don't know real numbers, just for example), and produce 1 kWh for 0.03, then in total this 1 kWh costs me 100 000.03 caps - quite a lot. But after some time I produce 10 millions kWh, so the total cost for 1 kWh is about ( 100 + 10 000 * 0.03 ) / 10 000 = 0.04 - cheap enough. With my current production level I need about 10 000 000 / 4741 = 2110 hours = 3 months to achieve this
Currently I have enough space for new buildings, so why not to produce all raw materials by myself?

ok you guys are very advanced in your economics but i with my simple logic am telling you its not profitable to do this.... its ur wish though i did the same when i played in realm1 and it dint work out well

lets make it simple for your very simple mind:

you make a power plant with 100 sqm where you earn 330k caps daily pure profit. you also make a well where you make 320k caps daily pure profit

now the big question is: does the building where you earn 330k caps dailymake you more profit than the building where you earn 329.99999k caps daily?

after you answer this question, ask yourself if it is worth to make a well and power plant, or would it be better to make 2 powwer plants and buy your water? same goes for any other building

Thank you for the explanation, I have reviewed my point of view about buildings and production.
But the main question remains: how can I calculate profit of all products, sort and select the max? :) I guess, if there was such a tool, everybody in Kapilands work only in the most profitable area.

take market price, deduce 10% of it and the production costs and there ya go. you can also use KAPITOOLS to find out how much of certain product a building can make in a day.
