dear mods
sorry, but now its time, to change something.
1.
iam one of the biggest cheaterhunters in game. as the beginning i supported this game with a few hundred euros, and i dont accept players, who are scammer and cheater. they are thiefs and rob money. the players, who pay real money, must be protected as fast as possible.
till today nothing changed into login-procedure. in german version is a security-code. maybe cheaters ignore this or crack this too, but now its the easiest way, i guess.
create an email with an activation-link. so it need time and makes it more difficult, to open hundreds of new companies - i hope.
2.
every day i detect a lot of cheater and write a message. but often it need 3 days and more, till someone read my msg.
a lot of them delete their accounts before and nothing happened.
3.
in german version everytime is 1 mod active in forum. most time of the day i dont see an active mod here. sorry. the day have 24 hours, and nobody must be online 24 hrs/day, but if there are more than 1 mod, it should be possible, that the most time one mod is present. it is an international game, so we have players from all around the world - and we need mods from all around the world, too.
keep this as a constructive criticism.
but as a "paying" player i expect some service.
i know, that the mods do a real good job and i want to thank them.

1 ) UHU ! I paid a little bit also for quick starting cash ^^ , and seeing people transfer money from companie sthat only existfor this purpose drives me crazy !
2 ) If they delete their account and dont play Kapi any-more , good for us !
3 ) True , but , a 24 hrs delay for an answer from a mod is worth waiting.
And as the game will become more popular , more mods will be there atomaticaly having more mods available , and maybe 24 / 24 , 7 / 7 .
4) Cheaters that GET cought should have a sort of a ban , maybe IP-ban ? ( could make some trouble in internet-caf

1. I have supported this game with cash a few times. It is worth it to keep the game up and running.
I am glad you help crack down on cheaters. We need more people like you.
2. I haven't had this problem. All my messages I have sent regarding cheaters have been answered in 24 hours.
3. I do think we could use another mod or two on the forum. I have only ever seen 2 mods and 2 admins on this forum before. Don't we have a number of other mods?
One of the 2 active mods hasn't been on in 2 days now. Hopefully, he will be back on soon.

2) I concur on the statement. I have looked everywhere ingame, in the FAQ, and in the newspaper to find where to report a cheater that had contacted me and was trying to trick people into cheating for them, but I found nothing even mentioning where to report them.
I eventually sent a few ingame messages to people I assumed to be administrators, but was left without feedback, and the cheater's account is still active.

On another note, while I don't think that CMB's idea of adding a picture / security code will eradicate cheaters, I certainly think it would reduce them, and make automated account creation much harder, if not impossible. The general rule for those things is that the harder you make it for people to do, the less people will do it... Only the most motivated will really continue. Again, it doesn't mean no one will do it, or that some cheaters won't create extra accounts manually, and a little bit here and there actually goes a long way, in the sense that it reduces the problem little by little, and frees up more admin resources to do something else than cheater hunting =)
Also, I'd like to mention that the starting money when you reset an account is, in my opinion, out of proportions. Certainly, you can't start a company with 0 kapis in your pocket and go completelyt from scratch. However, the option of reseting without the tutorial and having everything available directly in cash is -I think- a bad idea. I don't remember the exact amount off-hand, but it's around 500 000 or 700 000 or so if I remember well. Having only 100 000 in cash, and the rest of the amount in a "starting tally" would probably discourage cheaters by making cheating by buying things "with cash" and sending them off way less efficient, and therefore, way less desirable and less worth the risk of cheating, as well.
(by "starting tally" I meant 1-time amount of money, that new players constructions costs, production costs, etc, get taken out of, but that purchases from the marketplace / contracts don't. That way, a new player could still build their company the way they feel like if they don't want the tutorial buildings, and they would still have a small amount of cash on hand, reasonable enough to buy a bit of starting power, water and seeds, but they couldn't use their whole half milion start money to directly buy steel and send it off to their main account, or other common cheater habbits. They'd really have to use their starting tally to produce something and make money out of their production. At the same time, they'd totally be able to reset and build different buildings to try out another product branch if disatisfied with their original choice).
Well, just my 2 cents...
Go CMB! =)

Yes, but you found it on the forums, which I started reading rather late after I started playing. From my experience with other online games, the forums sounded more like the place to read chit chat from the player community, and mingle a bit.
The ingame faq, and weekly "official" publication from the game sounded -to me- better places to look for info on something that can't be solved by the regular player base, than the place made for the regular player base to express itself. I certainly must agree with you that it's very visible on the forums, but the forums are the last place I would ever have looked for it (as a side note, you'll notice I only registered on them today, because I wanted to answer to the post cmb just linked to in the game's irc chat... which I only joined since the begining of this week because the instructions on how to set it up were.... in this weeks' newspaper. Otherwise, I'd still not know about it
).
I'm slowly starting to know my way around this game and its habbits which are a bit different from what I'm used to. In the light of your post, I have to agree that it's explained and detailed somewhere. However, I still maintain that it would be neat to have a way to report them that doesn't require registering a forum account, and/or have some indication of what to do in such cases, in places that feel more "game general/official info" than the forums (such as the faq, or newspaper, for example).
I only have so much time to dedicate to the game, and keeping up with the forums felt a bit too much. That doesn't mean I don't play it "seriously" or didn't make the effort to understand it, go through the tutorial, read the help, the faq, even the newspaper, but my personal pick of priorities in spare time beyond that directed me to excel spreadsheets (and recently the gamechat) rather than keeping up with the forums. Maybe I'm the only one in that case, but I'm taking the liberty to not think so =)

These things had to be said... again. Im really can understand your frustration. Cheating is something we often talked about on the chat. For me it seems like the admins/mods are doing their best but simply cant deal with all the cheaters.
But there is something i like to add...
we often said we need that code on the login-page and we made suggestions for other ways to stop cheaters. We reported many cheaters every day bt nothing happens.
Same thing with the ingame-chat-button and other things.
For me it looks like nase lost a bit interest in the international version of kapi. The german version gets new features regularly .... we only got the presents and quests...
I thought about why people like andy and myself are quiting.. and many other "big" ones thinking about it. Well easy to answer... the game is getting boring and is full of cheaters.
Im really angry about this fact. And i am angry cause it seems like noone cares about us. and most of us paid real money to support this game which does not evolve further.
It might not take much time till more and more of the bigger companies will leave this realm because it is simply getting boring and disgusting ( because of all the cheaters ). Well... infact i know i wrote this and it will change nothing...
I wonder what will happen then...

I remember on a game called SFU Unification which I used to play a long time ago, there used to be an anti-bot button that popped up every now and then which forced you to click on it. If you didn't click on it, it would lock your account, and the only way to unlock it was to click on a number on a grid of 9 numbers which was mentioned above the grid.
I'm sorry if this is too confusing, since I don't explain things very well. But if you really do want to find out for yourself, go and play SFU for an hour, and you'll see what that kind of button is.
NO, I AM NOT ADVERTISING.

I agree with cmb and Jonny, cheaters are killing this awesome game, besides the graphic code, the email link the programers can implement a very simple and efective restriction in the market :
You can not sell 20% higher or lower of the average price
With this little restriction the daily cheaters would be more difficult.

I don't agree with that suggested restriction at all.cygnus wrote:I agree with cmb and Jonny, cheaters are killing this awesome game, besides the graphic code, the email link the programers can implement a very simple and efective restriction in the market :

Had you thinking about why are people selling steel at 100? or steel Q0 at 160? that's a form to transfer money from one account to another!Azer Productions wrote:I don't agree with that suggested restriction at all.cygnus wrote:I agree with cmb and Jonny, cheaters are killing this awesome game, besides the graphic code, the email link the programers can implement a very simple and efective restriction in the market :

If you can sell it to 134, why send it to the market bellow 130???
